This may not be feasible, but Mojang should try to make Minecraft work on Integrated crappy intel graphics cards. I know optfine works for the most part, but once you switch the render from "tiny" to "normal" the fps drops by a ton.
It's not really needed. If you want to play Minecraft and your computer is made of popsicle sticks, then it's time to upgrade.
still they should try or optimize it for intel gpu's .. for me its decent ..not great but decent
some ppl dont have the money to pay for epic computers
I know I know your gonna say then why play games?
well some people wanna play games but dont have the money

If yours is lower then a Windows XP (not sure about others), its time to upgrade.
Intel GPUs don't support openGL. Its a problem with the GPU, not the game. There is no workaround for that. So go write a suggestion to Intel, either way I doubt they'll read it.
Intel GPUs do support OpenGL. Its just everything from the prior to the last GMA series that didn't support it high enough to be used with most games.
As for the OP. This is a poster child argument about why all games should be designed around the Xbox... and exactly the reason why it should never have to happen this way.
Scalable settings is one thing.... but there is a point where the bare minimum to stay functional ends up holding the entire system back. If we applied this to every game, we would have never gotten past DX7, or would be forced to do everything in software.
