Hello fellow Minecrafters.
Today I will tell you about my idea: Double Signs!
Double signs are kinda like rails. When another sign is placed on a block next to it, they combine!
Know how signs, when placed on one block, they take up the entire block? What if you could place another one on a touching angle of the block, so the sign would become 2 signs on one block! Wouldn't that be useful?

How would the text on the signs change, though? Would you have to write both signs individually and just have them combine the text, or are you proposing that there should be a way to edit the text again for double-signs?
Also, what do you mean by them "becoming 2 signs on one block", exactly? A sign already takes up all of the horizontal and a good portion of the vertical space of a block. Doubling that so it becomes square doesn't seem like it would have much use outside of aesthetics. Then again, I'm a sucker for good aesthetic updates, so maybe making signs more diverse could work in some form or another.
I THINK he means something like double chests, so you could place a pair of signs side by side on the ground (so they generate their own posts) and just get one bigger sign with more room for text on it.
I understand the appeal, but I don't think it's feasible, and also, sometimes you WANT to place multiple signs on the ground without having them link up. It's already possible to build larger signs just by posting a bunch of them on a wall of wood, which you can support on fenceposts if you like. So this suggestion doesn't seem worth the coding effort.

Tell me what you think.

Because two blocks cannot occupy one block of space.
