not sure this thread counts as a suggestion but whatever.
I would add a glacier biome, the ground would be made from snow blocks and ice, you would have to dig about way down to hit stone, also ravines in this biome would be made from ice, not stone. There might be new mobs like penguins or something. In this biome Ice would not break into water it would just go away to allow people to dig through it. There would be randomly generated things suspended in the ice like chests and pieces of ore and mob spawners.
Going back to basics, where there would be volcanoes and ash falling from the sky instead of rain. Where the Lava flowing on the surafce wouldnt cool to make obsidian but would cool to make a more fragile rock, pumice. Pumice stone would float due to the air trapped in the stone while cooling.
Oh, forgot to add to the primal biome suggestion, geysers. Water blocks that would randomly expand by eight blocks for a short period of time, so if placed down a short shaft, would shoot up into the air.
Also Lava geysers, similar to the water ones, but where it will unexpectedly shoot lava up into the air.
In the biome would be berry bushes and lots of snakes, The air will be full of smoke from the volcanoes
Tar pit would be dotted about, where it could be collected by a bucket, but can not be walked across without sucking you, or anything else, down to die. Tar is lightre than water and will float on it, but is also flammable for a short period of time.
