Here is my idea, you craft it like this.
It will yield 8 pieces of Sticky Redstone. Sticky redstone will have have the same look as redstone, but have an orange color instead. When placed and in your inventory.
What it will be used for? Stick redstone will carry currents like normal redstone, but unlike redstone it can be placed anywhere. Redstone can only be placed on the ground. Sticky Redstone can be placed on the ground if you want to, it can be placed on walls, or if can be placed below blocks. It can be placed on any side of a block pretty much. And Redstone would carry currents from normal Redstone to Sticky Redstone without changing the signal at all. This would have so many uses to the redstoner community...

I'm tempted to tweet this thread to Jeb or Dinnerbone, but then they'll probably block me.
Yes, they probably will for tweeting a thread that's posted almost every day.
Honestly, I enjoy the idea. But it's posted so often that it gets on my nerves to see it. Learn to search before you post.

My thoughts in general. It's a good idea but it get posted so dang often.
Besides, wouldn't the slime resist the redstone current and make it travel less?

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

There's a difference between obeying laws of physics and making sense.
For example, living dead certainly defy physics, but they definitely make sense as a monster.
