This block would have similar properties to any other block for the person who placed it, though it would have golden/greenish lines running through it and would eminate a magical light.
It would be broken about as easily as cobblestone for the person who placed it, but if anyone else tried to break it it would reflect the damage back on them.
The fun doesn't stop there.
Place 6 of these blocks in a door format and you get a magical door that can only be opened by the person who placed it. If anyone else tried to open it, they are set on fire for a duration of 5 hearts.
The advantages to this block are quite obvious to me. They grant you the ability to build safes, weather large or small, to house your most treasured items in and not worry about them being absconded with by the first person annoying enough to break the sign off your chest.
It's really overpowered. Make it more expensive (gold ingot instead of nugget, lapis instead of glowstone, etc...).
Also, I can see some issues here with people who switch between online/offline mode - the doors and blocks would probably act like dogs, meaning that if you place them while online you will not be able to use/break them while offline, and vice versa.
A simple magical chest would be nice, expensive to create, hard to break, and only accessable by the person who placed it, or you get shocked with some damage...pretty simple eh?
right, so you surround your chest with your blocks, then i surround your blocks with my blocks, and ill do the same with your house and doors... :greatidea.jpg:
I don't really think it's needed. Anyways, EnderChests are being added, which essentially do this (execpt there's one inventory per world). A good suggestion would be for EnderChests to have one inventory per player, as EnderChests cannot be destroyed by explosions and share the inventory with all other EnderChests. So if they only shared their inventory with the player which placed them you could use them for this.
However, at the same time the fact EnderChests are how they are is good as they're mainly designed for adventure maps (as people put checkpoints into maps with beds but currently theres no way to leave your items at the checkpoint without them being stuck there). With the way they are currently there's many possibilities, while at the same time, having some way to change the ownership of the chest to a certain player so only his/her items are in it and cannot be accessed by anyone else also has many possibilities.
Maybe if you right click on an EnderChest with an EnderPearl or an Eye of Ender it changes it's ownership (but can only change from one owner to another if the previous owner uses an EnderPearl/Eye of Ender on it again).
Did you re post it to get rid of the negative comments? Look, think your idea through. read the pinned topic "How to Make a Suggestion"
No I acctually reposted it because I thought I had goofed up my original post and didn't post it right, as I couldn't find it, I'm still a bit of a noob as to how to use these forums.
But I assure you, the double-post was absolutley not intended as a spew broadcast of my ideas.

Heres my idea:
1 Obsidian + 1 Gold Nugget + 1 Glowstone Dust = Magical Block.

Just a thought, tell me what you think.
What's with the repost? Nothing has changed significantly. It's still an invitation to stick unbreakable blocks in peoples' houses.
Good point though, scrap this idea...but we do need something or some way to keep our items safer.
Just sayin...
Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
