I am proposing that there should be a temperature meter and a change of seasons. So here is now it would work: Seasons: There will be four seasons. The season will change every 3 moon phase cycles. The seasons are as follows: Summer: Rains/snows rarely, temperature is higher in all biomes except for the snow and jungle. Fall: Leaves have falling leaves particles falling from them, and the ground under them will have fallen leaves (like snow) which will drop sapling when broken. All trees except pine and jungle, or any trees in snow or jungle biomes will do this. Crops will grow faster. Winter: Rains/snow often. Will snow in all biomes except jungle and desert. It still won't rain in a desert. Snow will replace any fallen leaves that are exposed. Ice will freeze in all biomes except jungle and desert. Spring: Temperature is the same as normal. Snow on the ground will be replaced with flowers and grass, except in snow biomes. Animals will reproduce naturally, without having been fed wheat. Temperature meter: It will be like a bar near the inventory hotbar. One end will be blue and the other red, with the color transitioning between them. The temperature must not reach the ends, or you will start taking damage, from overheating/frostbite. Rain will lower the temperature a little bit, but snow will lower it a lot. Being in a snow biome will lower it a lot. Being in a desert biome will raise it a lot. Summer raises it a little, and winter lowers it a little, except in jungle, snow, and desert biomes. Being near a torch, redstone torch, glowstone, lit furnace, or jack-o-lantern will raise it depending on how much light they would give off. Drinking milk or a water bottle will
lower the temperature a little, and eating cooked food will raise it a little. Being near fire or lava will raise it a lot, and being in/on water or ice will lower it a lot. Drinking any potions will barely lower the temperature.
Well, that's my idea. Please let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Seasons a decent idea but its been suggested multiple times before. It kind of invaladates the point of biomes. About the temperature thing it seems to me that it would be a big nuisance. I am not trying to be/sound rude though. All in all it is a decent idea but could use some tweaking.
Temperature is a bad idea in minecraft, we arent supposed to be forced to avoid the deserts and snow biomes, and we already have a TON of bars and meters at the bottom, We dont need more, next your gonna be asking for thirst.
It's a nice idea, but as jmint16 mentioned, the seasons would completely invalidate the existing biomes, which act as your summer/fall/spring/winter. Taiga biomes are winter, jungle/plains/etc biomes are summer, and so forth.
I can only see the temperature thing as being annoying. It not only adds another thing to worry about (considering you are already thinking about your regeneration and your hunger to begin with), but does not add anything significant to the game. People got very angry and annoyed when hunger itself was added. In addition, having the temperature change by going near certain objects overcomplicates the idea to begin with. There are too many factors that could go wrong with the temperature idea to make it feasible or even worthwhile to begin with.
While Minecraft is composed of many parts, it is not meant to be overly complicated. I see this as being more of a mod than an actual implementation into the game.

Um, no. Biomes and seasons can live together, just like in the world. There are places where it snows year-round, and there are also places where it only snows in the winter.
Deserts can be hot all year, while other places are only hot in the summer. Places like Hawaii and other tropical biomes are always lush, like jungles, but other places can still have
large growth one season.

Support, save the meter. Biomes need some work, and, if seasons were added, perhaps in-game calendars could be created, similar to clocks. Seasons would be nice. Perhaps winter would cause more hostile mob spawns, while summer would have more thunderstorms?
Seasons yes, but only in appropriate Biomes. I.O. It will never stop being Winter in the Taiga/Iced Plains, Never stop being summer in Desert, etc.
As for Temperature, It would be better if it only manifested itself when it is important. I.O. When you have spent too long out in a Taiga (Probably around 1 day and 1 night) ALL of your meters tint to an Ice Blue color, and red when you are too hot. Then, Possibly, you would have 1 day OR 1 night to seek shelter. Obviously, none of this would apply if you are in a structure or you slept the night before.
However, even with this, it seems a bit of a stretch for MineCraft.
