Minecraft already allows players to create Texture Packs, so why not Language Packs specifically designed for them too? In their current state, Language Packs cannot actually be created by the player and need to be approved to even make it into the game. A better option would be to release a downloadable file that can be configured to the player's liking and then downloaded just like a Texture Pack. This would make a difference in the game, because of the fact that it would allow for a whole "new game" to be created in a sense. With the combination of a specific Texture Pack and Language Pack Add-on, it could sort of be like playing an alternate version of Minecraft. I'm sure plenty of Texture Pack owners would be willing to make Language Pack Add-ons to add as an optional attachment to their creations when downloaded. Regardless, this would be an interesting new feature that adds to the overall experience in Minecraft and could maybe even be an addition to the 1.3 update or a future snapshot! Make sure to comment with your own personal opinions and vote in the poll!
Please Note: These Language Pack Add-ons would be used to make the Texture Pack experience better, not add actual languages.
For Those of You Who Don't Get It: My friend didn't understand it either when I shared it with her...let me make up an example. Just say that there was a texture pack that was dungeon-themed and a Cactus was re-textured as spikes. When you picked up the Cactus it would be called Spikes instead of Cactus. This would allow for as many in-game things, including the menu, to be altered to metaphorically create a whole "new game" and really make the texture pack experience more of a game changer opposed to just a change in scenery.
THANK YOU...
yukumari000 for making me think of a better way to explain/organize this!
Hmm, i don't quite get it... Do you mean the text on the signs or what is it that you want to change some alien text?
I do NOT approve. if you don't know what items you have, because it's in a language you don't speak or read, then it would really suck.
I just don't get it…

I am ninja'd far too often.
He means language packs for adventure maps and such. A language accustomed to the map's world. Support.

So that way, when a texture-pack renames an item to something different, the language pack, can translate what the texture pack changed properly.
Did I get it right? :3
Yes, I guess that would be basically the same idea...although, the dictionary part of this post gave me a better way to explain this!
