As of now you can create an iron golem using iron blocks. But he pretty much just sits there unless aggro'd by a mob. But what if you could take him with you while you go out and mine?
Right-clicking on an iron golem with a rose will put a rose in his hand. If you have dandelion in your hand while he has a rose in his, he will follow you and attack any mobs or players that harm you (similar to wolves)
On the down side, you are left unable to defend youself, lest you lose his support in the middle of a battle.
Nope. Iron golems are meant to guard villages, not be your personal bodyguard. Besides, a cheap, massively powerful guardian is overpowered. The iron is very easy to get, and pumpkins are nothing.
The Iron Golem should be a paroling mob that sticks around the location it's built and attacks hostile enemies. It shouldn't be your man servant hobbling around wherever you go. Besides, his mobility is abysmal in both speed and ceiling clearance; he would never be able to follow you anyway..
Well it's not really taming... but in the update (1.6+) you get leads... and you can put the iron golem on the lead and he'll follow you. :s
I love how you made an account just to say that.
