Hi, I think they should introduce pigmen as a new kind of village. They would have a simpler building style, and have a different behavioral system.
Interaction- Unlike villagers, if you attack pigmen, they fight back. Also if you trade (see next part) they like you.
Trade: To trade, it is a lot more simple and sort of chance based. You use the 'drop item' button once one gets in a staring contest with you, then it picks it up. If it is something good, like a pickaxe or something, it will either keep it and walk away, or squeal and give you something in return (if you kill one you traded with, they drop what they picked up previously). If it is something dumb, like dirt, they squeal and attack you.
I think this is simple, and would give the game back that surreal, alone feel that I miss so much.
Hmmm, I actually rather like the trade idea. It's quite... uncivilized.
They'd probably spawn in the Nether though, since that seems to be their home. (I've always thought of the Nether as the world that was hit by some sort of evil magic before the overworld, turning all the inhabitants into undead like with zombies and skeletons of the overworld)
Also, this would make the Nether "more fun", which seems to be something Notch wants to do.
Well, I think zombie pigmen fill in that niche in the nether. They should have some kind of rudimentary civilization there. And thanks for your support. +1 maybe? lol
Why shouldn't normal villagers have the same behaviours? Personally, I liked the suggestion someone else made, that there be both Testificate and Pigmen villages, but the two be in opposition to one another.
I like the trading system, and maybe Zombies could attack the Pigmen, and they would get infected, and become Zombie Pigmen! And then these Zombie Pigmen would fight the living pigmen, and etc. etc. It's like the Villager system, but a bit... better.

What do you think?

I do actually like the simplified trading for just the Pigmen, but I really do think that both villages ought to feature response to your actions.
