It would be awesome if chocolate cakes were added to minecraft.
I know chocolate cakes have been suggested many times before, but just hear me out.
Chocolate cakes would be crafted the way you would think: a regular cake surrounded by 8 cocoa beans
(Cocoa beans are now found in jungle biomes and are farmable so no problem there)
Now, what the chocolate cake would do, is along with filling up one hunger bar for each bite, it would give you a Speed I as well, for about 15 seconds.
You could think of it as "sugar rush" or something.
And the effect won't stack or anything, so eating the whole cake, bite by bite simultaneously won't give you a minute and a half of Speed, just the 15 seconds.
(If you wanted another speed boost, you would have to wait for the previous sugar rush to wear off before taking another bite)
This would be great for people who haven't found nether strongholds yet to make potions (or have found one finally but with no netherwart in it anywhere ), and it would work out just fine cause, Speed I's not a big deal, it's not like Regeneration II or anything incredibly good like that, and for a cheap recipe like that, 15 seconds would be perfect.
I think I regret hearing you out. Chocolate cakes have been suggested before and your idea to make your post different from the other ingenious ideas is to make it speed you up for 15 secs? There is no use for such a thing. We don't need to stuff the game full of items that will allow us to mimic potion effects so that we can have them without going into the o-so-dangerous Nether.
May poorly conceived ideas on this form add mechanics that break a game. This one just adds something completely unnecessary and not even that aesthetic either.
if it speeds you up for 15 seconds, then shouldn't it slow you down for 15 seconds afterward?
And, perhaps the speed up could be weakened from the potion version.
Then can you help me with always spawning in a small little cave in the Nether and all my strongholds have no netherwart in them?
And how pigmen always find a way to glitch out and dogpile me straight into the lava?
Sorry, but I've really fed up with the stupid Nether and was simply offering an alternative suggestion to simple potion effects.
Search through the strongholds until you find sky.
Another good tactic would be to staircase up until you reach bedrock, and then down, until you reach a nice surface.

If the only reason to have chocolate cake is to treat a symptom, not a problem, then it is a defunct item to add to the game. It's like treating a cold by putting on a mask so no one can see your ill or plugging your throat and nose to prevent coughing and sniffling. There are a pluthroa of Improve the Nether threads, read through those, find one you like, and support it. Don't add random aesthetic items to circumvent problems, if they are truly real problems. I think the Nether could use additional content, but not so critically that it's currently broken. It's fine the way it is. But if you have an issue with the nether, don't go throwing chocolate cake in the forums to fix it.

So what do you guys think?
