Not unlike the strongholds we have underground, and the villages we have aboveground, Atlantis is known as a once-populous, abandoned city in the depths of the ocean. unfortunately we cannot prove it is real (or will ever be, haha.)
So, my idea is that we should have an Atlantis-like underwater village/stronghold/collection of buildings that could possibly contain grand buildings, and have seaweed (Vines that can sustain their growth underwater, essentially) on the structures' remains, have traps, chests, even minerals underwater.
Like villages, it would have smaller homes as well, like it would if it was real. Many of the larger buildings would be overgrown and flooded, some of the smaller ones too. You would not find many non-flooded buildings, giving you a challenge to grab what you can and leave.
You would find them mainly in the middle of the ocean, and they would be very low in the ocean. The number of buildings could vary, maybe a little bigger than a village... You might even find a surviving sea-villager. They are like normal villagers, but also like squids as they would have tentacles instead of legs.
I'm not really sure what else to put. Any ideas?

This has been suggested time and time again. To be honest, I love the idea of a sunken city, maybe complete with some sort of Kraken boss, but your idea is a bit vague and hazy... You should flesh it out a little.

I was thinking the same thing, and damn, I thought it would have been suggested before.
I'm not sure what to say, though. I have pictures in my mind, maybe I'll work on getting some screenshots in..

I picture Atlantis as a large village with a glass dome and 4 iron doors (so villagers don't go out and drown) on the dome, 1 on each 4 sides, so you can get in. That way it would be more simple to make, just put a large village at the bottom of a ocean biome and put the glass dome and iron doors, so without a overload of new mobs, blocks, etc.

"Colder than the snow that blankets the earth" "Colder than the ice that cover the stones and freezes the rivers" "Colder than the north wind blowing through a winter-bound forest" "Colder than all these is the smile of a Shade of the Dark"

Really? I think of it as a big, grand city with amazing structures.

Think of the minecraft variation, coding, etc it would need, vs taking what we have currently and modifying it, or make your own, take it and make that structure you made be able to be generated.

I'm with gertrude on this one. I don't care if it's harder, a huge epic city would be pretty amazing. Really all they'd have to do is have schematics for say 10-15 different bulidings and make an algorithm to spam them around an area.

I think this is the best part of the idea. I'd say rework from this direction and change the title. Deep blue squid people with their own trade items. Obviously with an underwater home but "Atlantis" has been beaten to death. If you try it from this direction it will be more interesting.

Like the idea of editable books isn't a pain.
(Not that I'm a coder or anything, because I'm not.
