Pretty much what the title says: some way to let redstone write in books as a storage device/autoprinter.
I think it might be 2 blocks. One, the "writer" that you insert a book-and-quill into, and feed a morsecode signal into to write in the book. One side recieves the morse code, while the opposite side changes the state from writting to signing to written.
The other, the "reader", needs a written book inserted into it. One side outputs the morse code, the opposite side signals the "reader" to start outputing.
This would allow for books to be used as "flashdrives": compact, moveable memory. I'm sure I don't need to list the possibilities of that.

No, actually, you really should list them, because I don't understand any reason to add this. This looks like an advance computing process that would make very complex redstone contraptions like binary calculators, television screens, snakes and ladders, etc. easier, but would have no basic use for the average user. It's akin to adding craftable computers, a suggestion that has already been made and has met minimal success. Why use books anyway? it seems rather arbitrary to just use a book. And that's not how books were meant to be used.
I just think a dedicated redstone floppy would be redundant. In any case this allows for autoprinting.
The list I have:
1.Multipurpose CPUs. You can deal away with programming memory with this, mostly, and just have it read instructions off the book.
2.Autoprinting:Mentioned earlier. Granted it'll be slow, but printing presses would be neccessary in a large server to share books.
3.Faxing: Just write your message, pop it into a reader, and run a wire to a writer. Done, or just about.
And more.

1.Multipurpose CPUs. You can deal away with programming memory with this, mostly, and just have it read instructions off the book. Only a very small portion, maybe 10% of the Minecraft community would be able to utilize this. That would suggest that this is more suited as a mod then a intrinsic device.
2.Autoprinting:Mentioned earlier. Granted it'll be slow, but printing presses would be neccessary in a large server to share books. A printing press would be a lot more feasible and make a heck of a lot more sense.
3.Faxing: Just write your message, pop it into a reader, and run a wire to a writer. Done, or just about. Write a message in a book, place it in an ender chest, have your bud pick it up out of another ender chest. Or if you don't want to be complicated, use the chat we all have available to us.
And more.
I'm not saying "there is a mod for that", but this truly belongs as a mod because it is not useful to general Minecraft. To that end, I suggest you look at the Redpower Mod. It can do the things you want to be done.
4.That's still telling me there's mods for that. In any case I am not the best at installing mods, espicially at multiplayer, my favorite mode.
No, it's not. As clarified here, simply stating "there is a mod for that" without any detail, discussion, issues, or information is a clear rule violation. I've provided an acceptable amount of detail to back my claims.
Just because your suggestion is more versatile doesn't mean it's a better device than a printing press. If you work at a slaughter house and spend 8 hours a day cutting open animals with your knife, you would be using a well honed, dedicated knife to do your job, not a 2 inch swiss army knife that has a saw, flashlight, magnifying glass, leather awl, metal file, can opener, bottle opener, etc. The device, as you describe it, would require two separate entities that could be accomplished by one entity in the form of a printing press. You can't, therefore, use it as a valid use for your suggestion because a more simple solution has been suggested.
I'm going to leave this topic alone now, because I think I've stated my reasoning well enough and I believe that without my posts or any OP revisions it will become defunct naturally on its own.

1.You only said it'll do what i've been describing. How is that sufficient?
2.Yes, I can. Just because it's a swiss army knife does'nt mean it can't do any one job effectivilly. Or have you heard the saying "Jack of all trades, master of none, Often better than a Master of one. "?

Can I just say that that quote is debateable. My martial arts teacher always tells us that someone who gets one technique perfect every time will beat the guy that trys everything but not perfect.
On topic, this is far too complicated. Why add a block that only a very small amount of people would utilize, and even then, would be so hard to use correctly. Look at your examples:

Look, noone will use this apart from the most redstone savvy people, and even then, this function will hardly ever be used by normal players.
2.Autoprinting:Mentioned earlier. Granted it'll be slow, but printing presses would be neccessary in a large server to share books.
Why do you need to do that? Books can easily be replaced by signs if need be. Public messages would be hard with uneditable books.
3.Faxing: Just write your message, pop it into a reader, and run a wire to a writer. Done, or just about.
I think you said before that the two blocks would have to be wired up together. That would be a lot of wire over large distances. Ender chests are so much easier.
And more.
Also, your idea is only really focused on multiplayer. Singleplayer there are a very small amount of uses.
I don't particularly like singleplayer, is why. It's not very fun if there's no one else to play with.
And I'd like the enderchests better if you could tune them to different frequencies like in the mod. Otherwise they broadcast everywhere and items in them get stolen easily.

2.A Writer IS a printing press, of a sort. The writer and reader are more verstaile anyway.
3.Secrecy. Codes only go so far, espicially when you broadcast it EVERYWHERE.
4.That's still telling me there's mods for that. In any case I am not the best at installing mods, espicially at multiplayer, my favorite mode.
