So, this is a very quick idea that I came up with. It would be a machine made out of a full crafting grid of iron ingots except for the middle which would be redstone and the block above which would be a piston. (Crafting could be different, this was just my first idea.) So anyways, when you right clicked it a page would open with 1 open slot and then 3 open slots next to them. In the 1 open slot you would put a book that you had written in, and then in the 3 adjacent slots you would put paper. You could stack up paper depending on how many times you wanted to print your book. Once you had your paper in, you could run a redstone signal into the machine and it would start printing copies of your book at about 1 per 10 seconds, each copy would take 3 paper from the adjacent slots. I think it would be a useful way to make copies of your books so they could be distributed in multiplayer or just to have more than one copy etc. I just thought of this idea really quickly and I'm open for suggestions. Hope you enjoyed, feel free to leave feedback!
This is why the forums have a search bar and there are rules requiring you to use it. Half a year on the forms, 2k posts, and all those links I found by searching "Printing Press" in the first results page; such a mistake is inexcusable.

I can't tell. Are you a moderater?
In any case, I didn't see those browsing the suggestion forums either. Posting on them would constitute a necro.

I am not a moderator, I posted the links because multiple links are easier to organize in a post. The rules about reviving a necro post are to stop people from bringing up old posts that have no relevance. For example, if there was a post for adding emeralds made a year ago, and someone posted on it now saying "ha ha ha, you dweb, this has already been done!", that would be a rule infraction. However, many of the links I provided are only a month or two old, have more content then this suggestion, and have more support. The necro post rule doesn't apply to any of those. The redundancy rule does.

So you're a vigilante?
Whatever.
It's still not likely you'd see a month-old post anyway onless you specifically search for it. Certain ideas that go by different names can get missed even by the search function.

Look, you type in the exact title of this post into the search bar and you get 8 or so posts in the first results page. I didn't jump on a trolly, walk into the local archives and spend an afternoon disseminating databases to find these. I'm also not back seat moderating; you can't make click able hyperlinks when you report a post, so if I have multiple links, I put them in a single post for clarity. I'm not stating that this thread should be locked, I'm stating there is a rule violation. If you don't like the rules, consult a moderator.
There is a guide to searching in the suggestions tutorial stickied thread
1) Think of idea
2) Put it in most basic form
3) Search
4) ??????
5) PROFIT
EDIT: Damn Ninjas!
Also, the idea is obsolete anyway, after time of post, as aforementioned, so the use for this? Maybe in SMP but only really on Vanilla.
Not really obselete in SSP. Suppose you made directions to diamonds because you didn't have an iron pick at the time. Suppose part of it requires you go over some lava. Careful, don't sli- woops, too late.
See the problem? Remember, kids, always leave backups.
As has been said several times in this thread, it has been suggested numerous times before. And we do allow people to post links to previous threads on a suggestion and say that it has been suggested before because of two reasons:
Reminding someone of the rules is ALWAYS the right thing to do when they are breaking them (unless they are trolling, just report and walk away)
Forum staff are people. We have jobs, school, families, and need our downtime as well. We can't always get to reports right away so if there are users who care enough to remind people to follow the rules more power to them.

Backups of books maybe?
A way to "read" and "write" books via redstone would also be neat as a mobile storage device.
