First, take into account the recently added trip wire system. This allows two blocks to be connected by a wire, in theory creating a rope between them and checking periodically if that wire is broken, which triggers a redstone charge. EASILY altering this system could swap the redstone institution and bring a redstone current whenever said wire is NOT broken. This ends up with an electrical wire, much like common real world power lines, with too many uses to count as well as a new touch of realism and modernism in Minecraft. Of course the string would be made out of something other than string, maybe iron or *hint hint* a new copper ore used mainly for this subject. One end of the wire would need to be powered by redstone, sending a current straight to the connected block at the other end! It's brilliant and totally doable with the stable tripwire system already in place!
JEB do this!
TL;DR:
I want redstone cables added based off of the tripwire system. Maybe a new copper ore for the wires themselves.
First off, if you want to change the redstone output of the tripwire, its called an inverter. Second, there are basically no differences between these obsure "power lines" and redstone (sorry if I'm misunderstanding but I just don't get it). And lastly, not many people, especially not Jeb want "a new touch of realism and modernism in Minecraft", that would just destroy the game theme.
Overall i just don't understand the topic in general, please reword?
Edit: okay after reading it a few times I understand now, still basically the same as redstone, except slightly more complicated. My second and third points still stand.
The Idea is that you can hang these in the air. And yes, it is like redstone. Almost exactly the same, but you don't need a bunch of redstone, just one wire and two end blocks. I think it's something that is more efficient than laying down 8 redstone powder blocks. I guess you could use inverters but that would take more room than a single block connecting each wire. And in series it could look like power lines. Adding realism would not break the theme. There's enough fantasy to balance the addition of these wires.
Okay... Add a bit more detail into this post. What would it do to Mobs? Players? Items thrown into it?Interference? I do like the idea a bit, just go a bit further with the post.

Dig them holes.
