In multiplayer TNT blocks cannot destroy blocks placed by another player yet it can still kill other players, Although this dosn't fix boxing in a player and filling the building with lava but atleast your creations can't get destroyed.
In SOME servers you're SUPPOSED to blow a hole in the wall of people's fortresses, This ENCOURAGES having OBSIDIAN LINING in the core of your walls.
I have to agree. Actually, I'd go a step forward. Servers should have the option to set protection not just on player blocks but Player, All, and None...and to define which sources of block destruction work or don't. Then again, I think that servers should have an extreme degree of control over how the game mechanics work in their world.
This would obviously have to be optional. Also, would creeper explosions be handled together with TNT or seperatly? How about Ghast explosions. This is important because what you end up doing is nerfing creepers and ghasts so they only cause biological harm but not structural damage.
