Today I'd like to share with you an idea which will be very useful to you adventure map creators.
The new, Block lock item!
This item is creative only, and allows you to make any block you place indestructible!
This item is quite simple. All you do is right clock a block and presto, the block is virtually unbreakable to players in survival mode! But that's not all, pressing C will open a GUI allowing you manually or automatically lock every block in your course.
On the gui, there will be 5 buttons: Lock all, Unlock all, Lock, Unlock, Locking options.
Lock All: Exactly what it sounds like, it locks every single block in your world.
Unlock All: Same thing, just unlocks every block.
Lock: The Default setting on your lock tool, allow you to lock any block you right click.
Unlock: Unlocks any block you right click.
Locking Options: This allows to configure your "Lock All" button. It will show you a complete list of blocks it will lock, But only blocks YOU placed. If you don't want some block to be locked, like clay, you can just uncheck it on the list. Also, there will be two other options, Blast Resistant, and Fire proof.
Blast Resistant: say in your adventure level, you have a cannon that will blast something open for the player? This option, if unchecked, will let the block be destroyed by any explosion.
Fire Proof: Wood and Wool are great for decoration and puzzles. The infamous Flint and Steel has been abused in thousands of ways in your adventure maps. Time to put that to a stop. as simple as it sounds, Fire proof, when checked, will cause the block to not be ignitable from fire.
Please comment on how my idea sounds. Improve what you think and don't think works.
I support, but maybe make it so you can select all of one kind instead of all or just one. So for example you could lock all cobblestone, but not everything else.

You're right, good idea. I would have thought of that.. Probably after it was implemented.
Seems like a generally good idea. The only problem I forsee is, if it was implemented, people would be pissing and moaning about how it works in Servers and the forums will go through even more "suggestions" threads about why it should and should not be usable and than everyone on the forum commits suicide.

Still a good idea though.
Servers have plugins, they wouldn't need this tool.

What's up? I'm the proud co-owner of a little ClassiCube server called Minebuild.
Click here to go to the thread for it!
Sometimes, you just need a little more cave.
