I started playing in 1.8.1. How unlucky is that? I saw the new terrain, and at first, I would want to explore. Now, the only reason to explore is to find new resources (Pine wood, wolves, snow, jungle wood, cocoa beans, etc.). Despite the fact I never seen anything in the "alpha days", I understand why the seeds are so repetitive. Another thing I want fixed is the seed changing in every update. I find that really annoying.

The seed changing is unavoidable. If terrain changes happen, expect more seed changes. I'd rather reset my worlds than have crappy worlds.
The solution to the problem is, like ChaosGuardian said, not to go back to the old world generator. I think the solution is to give the terrain generator an overhaul.
I do not wanna promote myself, or my channel, but with 1.3.1 you can select something called "Large Biomes", and I did that, spawned in a extreme hills biome, and this is what I found:
If you do not wish to see the video:
I found some crazy mountains chaining, it is pretty crazy, and since it's a large biome, it'll go on for miles. I do, however, support the thread starter in the fact that, plains biome and deserts need something new, they are bland and boring.

Implying we don't know this already. Mountains are still crappy. We need them in AT LEAST forests, taigas, and deserts.
Support list updated. 3 Added.
I do kinda like ProDontion's spawn point in that map. Just looks like more extreme hills to me. Just a little more exterme-er. (Yes I know it's not a word. Cry me a river).
I agree with this 100%.
I started playing Minecraft regularly during the 1.7.3 era and I loved exploring and trying to find neat looking overhangs/cliffs.
Actually, now that I think of it, those were the main reasons I became so addicted to Minecraft in the first place.
Now I have to create world after world just to find a decent place to set up shop.
They could even just add a mode that brings that kind of generation back to the game and I'm pretty sure I speak for a lot of people when I say this, it would definitely bring back more eagerness to actually play the game in general.

True, but people like me who think the terrain is crappy as well would like to be able to find villages, ravines, etc without any glitches or sloppy formation. I also like some of the new biomes as well, excluding extreme hills, X-hills biomes, and beach biomes.
I call spam! You said the EXACT same post in ChaosGardian's Topic

These are the EXACT same threads, with the exact same group of re-posters re-posting re-peatedly.
I reported 1.3.1's new feature, and I did it economically. You're welcome.
And that's the problem. The terrain is so bad that you want to revert back to an older generator.

/seed in the command line.
