I've always found it somewhat annoying in creative mode having to place glowblocks or torches. I'd hope this reaches the ears of Jeb but to make the playing give light like a torch while in creative mode. It would making building at night easier or in caves.
Definitely just today I was trying to work on a large cavern for an adventure map and I was getting frustrated especially when I was underwater haha. Being glowy would be a huge improvement.
That'd require dynamic lighting - a topic discussed many times before.
It all boils down to the simple fact that it's a huge resurce hog and Jeb_ doesn't want to alienate all players with lower-end computers

Yeah, this is one of the main problems. With Single Player Commands, there's a command called "Light" which makes everywhere you go fully lit. If something like this were toggle-able in Creative mode, I think it could solve your problem.

You do bring up a good point which is a shame because it's hard to argue low end fairness with features of this magnitude. Unless it's toggle able haha but then it still feels unfair for those who cannot use it.

I'd like to add that the "Light" command isn't dynamic lighting, it just sets every single part of the world to be the same light level and causes little or no lag.

That is interesting so it makes all the blocks have max light level? That would certainly do the trick.

Not if you have a beast computer.
