Well I was thinking about this for awhile, I think it would add some more difficulty to the game. Other then creepers griefing your creations.

There would be tsunamis, tornadoes, whirl pools, and volcanoes.

Different events would be able to destroy certain blocks laid down by players.

Tsunami's
Wool Blocks
Farms
Torches and light sources

Tornadoes
Wool Blocks
Wooden items

Whirl Pools
Boats

Volcanoes
Wood
Wool

After some time the lava from the volcano would turn into obsidian but like a small amount, possibly a slab or a 1/4 of an obsidian block?
