Most people probably know about Skyblock. But wouldn't it be cool if floating islands were actually their own biome? Obviously they would be much bigger than in the Skyblock maps. Floating islands do spawn sometimes, but they aren't all that common. I was thinking that they could be islands that would be floating over the water (if they were over land, tons of mobs would spawn in the daytime).
So they would probably end up being near ocean biomes. They would still be a rare biome (like the mushroom biomes), but would be more commonly seen than they are now. They wouldn't have many trees on them, but would often have water or lava flowing down from them. And perhaps dungeons would sometimes spawn on them? When you found them, there would be lots of the islands and very big ones usually. Unfortunately they would still be hard to find. And would be dangerous, since you could die if you fell off (if there wasn't deep enough water under it).
Actually there are already floating islands but it would be better if they would have a biome of their own and they should be a lot bigger than one block. Maybe there should also have those monuments like in the aether.
No, it should not be it's own biome. This could lead to exploitation, and people could easily reach the diamond layers with no effort between biomes.
However, I do support this idea if it is a world generation type or a different dimension instead.

I see your point. But as I said, they would be pretty rare. So looking for floating islands to find diamonds might actually take longer. It probably would be better as a world generation type though. Good idea.

So, does anyone else agree with this idea?
