That seems like a rather opinionated response. I do not agree with you.
For the most part, he is correct. When I go looking through suggestions, for example, there are far too many for me to reply to all of them. I only select the ones that I think I could contribute to. But if I have no idea of what I'm going to talk about, I'm not even going to bother clicking on it. On rare occasions I wonder what could be going through these people's minds, so I do click on it, but mostly not.
It's not a matter of making people vaguely curious by restricting information. You want to make your suggestion as obvious as possible.

How are you supposed to learn how to make a suggestions if you can't practice here. From what I read this page is for drill and practice. This thread is for learning to give proper detail, and for learning to give proper attention. Someone practices posting something correctly. Then someone else practices responding correctly. The title of the thread is even "Please Read This Before Making a Suggestion", which implies that suggestions are in fact designated for this thread. If people are annoyed or consider suggestions spamming here, maybe they should read the text at the beginning of the thread.
no this thread is a guide for learning to make a correct suggestion, if you want to practice at least say at the top of the post: This is a practice suggestion.

I'm almost completely inactive, in case you're trawling through really old threads and notice me somewhere.

Wrong! So wrong that its worng! You don't practice crap here. If you want to practice a suggestion, send a private message to someone that agrees to proof it, and have them do the dirty work.
Otherwise, read this thread, understand the meaning, and post a new thread with your suggestion then.
You're not required to read everything here, but have a solid grasp of the presented material. It's not really that hard. Here's a quick tip that'll get you out of 80% of the heartburn, don't be lazy.
That's it. Make your suggestion worth reading and people will read it.

I agree but the other guy was saying that was wrong, oh and this is my 200th post.

The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
"This guide is intended for no specific age group, as all age groups play Minecraft. Profanity doesn't matter because kids likely watch videos with profanity and know several profane words from an early age. Because obviously if you use the internet you're exposed to such things. We shouldn't have to be careful."
That about sums it up. The rest is irrelevant comparisons, pointless anecdotes, or off-topic.

So, basically, because some kids know profanity, we shouldn't care if any of them hear it?
You're either part of the problem or part of the solution. I personally prefer the use of profanity with limited discretion; usually as a point of shock to draw attention to a point. This means excessive or liberal use of it will literally damage the integrity of profanity as a shock medium. After all, constant exposure means psychological deadening which means the use of it as a tool is hindered. You have to come up with increasingly-clever metaphors or forms of swearing to maintain the same level of shock where a few moments of disuse can do the same thing.
I'm also not a fan of coddling. Children may have an undeveloped psyche (look it up, your hippo campus is still developing well into the 20s on an average human) but they will still react and learn from foreign stimuli the same as anyone else. While I do attempt to refrain from using "morally destructive" language from children, I'm not in a moral dilemma if a choice word slips. The real world sucks, might as well break 'em in young.
They are already in the post. (Might not be in that particular section though).

Other notes:
> If you make a banner that doesn't link back to your thread, I'll hate you a little.
> Stop suggesting: lighted torch holding, retarded bosses, new dimensions, thirst, natural disasters.
> If you don't support a gun thread because it is "OP" and "unfitting" when it clearly isn't, (eg that musket thread), I will hunt you, and I will absorb your life essence.
Pfft. Mods on my server once installed a marriage plugin. Then there was a grand marriage between two prominent members. I couldn't believe it was happening while it was happening.
I'm not sure how anyone can take a Minecraft "relationship" seriously enough to even call it "sad."
Anything from a mod that differs greatly from the structure and boundaries of Minecraft
I think that's already in the guide as "Add this mod!"
Anything to do with dating or relationships
I don't think I've ever seen a suggestion like that...

The part about "Don't support a bad idea" is sadly giving very different views from people. You see, there can be those that think everything is a good idea...
*ahem*

Well, I have one for "Generally hated suggestions": Realism crafting. Basically this, using "1 block in 1 block out" logic.

What? Am I dead? A good thread about making good threads???? This is heaven!! Theriasis, nice job.
Example Suggestion:
Don't make suggestions on this thread!!!!!!
This idea is worse!!
So, you made a bad idea but its okay because the Herobrine idea is worse. Great Logic There.
"Uhh i think you should get exploding eggs from chickens, i know this idea sucks but its better than the Herobrine one"
All you did was admit that your suggestion sucked, saying there are worse suggestions out there doesn't prove your point
Please ignore my old posts.
Yeah, having your crotch impaled by a harpoon isn't as life-threatening as being mauled by a bear/shark/bearshark, but I don't want either.
