Do you need a less-needed new function in Minecraft (like removing enchantments)? So add a new ore that does that.
That's not a good idea. Each ore has more than one dumb purpose, not counting tool-related and block-related usages. And how about the rarity? Let's make it common and this ore will flood the chests just because the players don't need it so frequently. Or make it rare and when someone needs that in the moment, he doesn't have it. Notice that there's no best fit, beacuse each player needs it less or more frequently.
So insted of creating a new ore just for one less-needed function, make a craftable item istead.
How about the ore's pathetic 'in-between tier?' How someone may suggest Silver, and say it's weaker than Diamond but stronger than Gold. Or someone suggest Flint Tools and say it's stronger than wood but weaker than Iron. Those in-between tiers are rather pointless to have, since we would already spend our time achieving the stronger variation of that in-between tier.
Added all of that except the command block, which the user Botjoe convinced me of taking off the list (and I can quote that huge PM he made if anyone cares about that). Also added "microtransaction DLC's".
I'd like to see what would convince you to take it off the list. Given what it was, I think it'd be interesting to see his reasoning.
When I wrote the last reply, I didn't realize I had an inbox message from Sachervell on the interest in topic of Command Language customization. We're in discussion on the capability. Who knows it might be a vanilla after all.
I may have to delete.
Original message >>
Theriasis, Please do not add "command block discussions in survival" to the list of generally hated ideas. That closes off the discussion on any user customization of worlds in survival mode. I've noted a number of suggesters and other users seeking a means to add user customization to generation of terrain in command block like language.
Why are they writing this? The theme across many of these suggestions I've culled but not all is that vanilla minecraft isn't varied enough and "becomes boring". They have a point, in that after some hours of play, the variation in the game is limited. While these suggestions are not clearly stated as most are written to "please add this", but the theme is there which I read a solution as "please let me add this in some reasonable way". For them, that's command blocks, whether or not such an implementation is actually done as a command block. The suggesters don't see the game in terms of a meta level, so they refine the command block as statements of need.
For example, let's say one person wanted to add a simple castle to biome generation in the mountains (specific to a theme), and another person wanted ruined railroads and bridges. Should minecraft program this? Probably not. Should minecraft allow the minecrafter to have the ability to add this into the generation with a MC command script. Might not be a bad concept or at least worth discussing.
Why command block discussions are not exhausted? The idea is not exhausted, in any case, as it is possible to 1) meet this need for survival for these persons to some level of their taste, 2) yet stay within survival concepts and 3) further still use the command block language to add variation. While not putting command blocks on the inventory or even the summon in survival for players is probably good, a command block language script could be added to give customizable generation at startup (in a new configuration dialog at world generation) or as a command. This feature may or may not be available to the survival user directly in game play, but the feature could still part of the vanilla game under single player or op control. Like resource packs, it could open minecraft to theme customization.
Whether or not you like the above idea, I think there is a case can be made that sufficient interest and new concepts could be added into such discussions. The topic of command blocks as a venue for discussion in vanilla minecraft should not be closed or marked generally hated.
In any case, I do not agree the aspects of discussing command blocks in survival is exhausted. It's what suggesters have to work with to see new concepts.
--------------------------------
After all, How many generally hated ideas should you have?
Thanks

Mind you, that another reason I removed the command block entry was to free up space in the first post (this was before I put the inferior suggestions section on a whole 'nother post). I might consider putting that back in the list. I don't know.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't had that to the list already. I'll add this now.

The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
"Fine, this will just be in Hard or Hardcore then!"
No. Your idea of "tornado creepers" is still stupid. Easy and Normal difficulty players will be spared your terrible idea, but the people who play the harder ones still suffer. If your idea is terribly dumb, annoying and overpowered, then pushing it to the harder modes and thinking "it's fine now!!!" will fail. Nobody wants to avoid a hard difficulty they like just because something stupid was put in it.
I think this in the guide already but...
Incomplete Suggestions
No, I'm not talking about vague suggestions. I'm talking about ideas that are more or less well typed out, but the suggester leaves lazy blanks in stuff and just walks away because god forbid if anyone uses effort. "Creepers should have a 10% chance of dropping creeper eyes, it could used to make a new potion! I'm sure what kind of potion though, so go fig..." Augh.
And one for the inferior suggestions section:
Taming Mobs That Should Never Be Tameable
Yeah man, let's completely ruin the point of a hostile mob but taking one under our mental control. Let's tame villagers do our job for us so we don't need to play the game! Someone! Get Mojang on Line 1! Please, there's already three utility mobs that fight for us. Can't we just be grateful for that?

Because golden apples weren't enough, now we need golden steak!
This is very uncreative. What's the point? Why would you want more golden foods when we already have Enchanted Golden Apples, Golden Apples, and oh yeah, the original, potions! What point do these extra golden foods serve? The missing effects golden apples don't have? They aren't there because that would be OP. Imagine a player stacking up all the golden food effects at once and getting a crazy amount of positive effects!

3 utility? um i only see 2 if you are talking about the wither is just a boss so it shouldnt be a utility one.
Also is more mob skins counted as unoriginal ideas?
Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. What... are you talking about..? How could the Wither remotely be a utility mob? Seriously, I'm extremely curious to why you brought that up. We have 3 fighting utility mobs: Snow Golems, Wolves and Iron Golems.

sorry on the wiki they were labeled as that, but that should be on a separate way called tamable mobs on which there are 3 and utility mobs, but they can also being labeled as utility because horses, wolves and cats are there to help you.

They are labeled as "Boss Mobs" on the wiki. I think you thought Withers fell in the "utility" category because the player has to actually create them (as one does the two golems). By definition, the word utility is something that is useful/resourceful in the context of being a "tool you can use". Sort of.

Technically there are 5, because of the Snow Golem.

Does it count as idea cramming if I simply list the new features in an update post and put them in the main post rather than make an extra post with all the details and not putting them in the main post?
I looked back at the threads made a little bit before/after this thread was made, and I notice a lot of them were poorly written or had mistakes which are currently unimaginable to see in the forums, like people saying "tl;dr" and nobody calling them out for it.

Idea cramming is forcefully adding thoughtless not-so-great-and-off-the-top-of-your-head details to a post just for the sake of going "Okay! There! My idea isn't vague anymore! Now stop complaining!" If your initial suggestion already had good development, adding more info in an update is not cramming.
In short: No, your scenario isn't idea cramming, you're fine.

Been quite a while since I been to this thread. I got a good example for the 'This adds a challenge!" excuse. Sometimes I see dumb threads like this.
OP: "My idea is that when a Creeper is lit on fire, it explodes! This is like... realistic and stuff!"
Reply: "Bad idea. This means hitting a creeper with the Flame enchantments risks blowing up landscape we didn't want to blow up."
Reply 2: "This also ruins it for traps that involve fire, like using flint & steel from dispensers."
OP: "Yeah that's the point! It forces you to be careful which adds a challenge!"
Nooooooooo -________-
What's easier? Leaving creepers on fire alone or adding this """challenge"""? People also make this mistake with weapon ideas that are out of control and are more devastating than they are useful.
