Not that I care or anything, but are you taking the side of blueberry12? He compared one of the most detailed and popular suggestions on this forum to his immobile obsidian golems and actually said his idea was "more original". Then he had the nerve to say how the nether villagers would "haunt people in their dreams", "ruin minecraft sales forever" and make people think "mojang employees were satanic".
Good god. Just seeing myself type that makes me think that kid wantedto be mocked. If he didn't leave the forums forever, I'd say he was the most successful troll in the history of man.
No, I'm not taking the side of blueberry12.
I'm just saying people back then are a bit.... Annoyed..

You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!

This guide is so long, that people will forget some of the things in the guide, after they've finally finished reading it.
This is actually more of the fault of modern school and teaching practices than it is the actual readers; but it's something I call "can't see the forest before the trees".
Spending all your time trying to remember each individual section is pointless. Instead, try to understand not that these things are annoying, but WHY they're annoying.
This thread has a very similar Modus Operandi (MO) to For The Critic in that everyone is honestly literally about "Use yer noodle before throwing your mental abortions onto this forum like it's a dumping ground for absconded dreams." In other words Common Effing Sense is the order of the day.
If you absolutely can't handle getting negative votes on your poll, then just don't add a poll. It sickens me when you see that the negative choices are the more popular ones, then you come back to the thread and the OP completely swapped some answers around. I actually seen a thread where someone erased the all the votes, voted for the best choices, and then closed the polls (even though the thread only existed for 6 hours) so the best choice were at 100% votes.
That person ended up deleting their thread out of sheer embarrassment because they were caught. That's a big baby thing to do. It also looks suspicious seeing all positive votes when almost everyone who posts in the thread gave negative reception.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
I got an idea for the "Hated and Inferior Suggestions" section.
Alternate Currency Items
"I suggest we have sapphire and rubies. They'd be awesome! Why are they awesome?! Because they could be another form of currency and not just emeralds!" So adding extra sprites that do the exact same thing as emeralds would be awesome because... just... because?! Okay.
Edit: Wait, got another one.
Linking to Other Threads/Sites to Explain Something
I don't think I saw that in the guide. So if someone suggests that they want ghosts in the game, it's a bad idea to go "well I don't need to explain ghosts, so here, !" Just because the suggester doesn't feel like doing some extra typing.

The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
SECTION CONCEPT: Learn the definition of a word before using it
As time passes, I've seen some very liberal use of common terms due to lack of understanding or refusal to do so. These terms are often thrown about without consideration to what these words actually mean which diminishes the term and causes confusion as they get diluted.
Troll - This is perhaps the worst one I've seen and the focal point of the discussion. A troll is best described as a fisher. Someone that throws out bait for others to grab. In this case, they're fishing for reactions by throwing out questionable or offensive material to gather a reaction. With this said, the word "troll" is the most tossed around word I've seen on this forum; often without meaning or reasoning.
If someone disagrees with you, they're not trolling you. They are DISAGREEING with you; and often this is met with shored up hyper defenses against them. In the end, they WILL troll you as they have been denied any opportunity to help, encourage, or discuss with you. This doesn't make them (initially) a troll though you may be the end-cause for it.
Troll is also thrown to someone that offers any negative criticism (and sometimes positive criticism) simply because it's easier to label someone as an enemy than to work on the problems they present. The problem is, whether it's stated by a perceived enemy or not, a problem's a problem; and their state in your mind doesn't change the fact that it's STILL a problem; and if it's STILL a problem, that means YOU'RE still a problem. So, y'know, fix one of those.
Hater - one who hates due to spite or envy. This one is a fun one, because it's reserved exclusively to haters; almost in a sense of poetic irony. If someone enters your beautiful thread and hates on it, chances are they busted your thread for many errors. They're not hating on your thread more than they are acknowledging the wood rot compromising the durability of the boards of your 15 year old deck and the ENORMOUS HEALTH RISK involved. Look, when someone comes in and points out problems, they're not the haters, you are.
I think some of these posters actually know what the words mean, but just throw them out there because they're too big of babies to understand that people disagree with them.
"It's not possible to reasonably disagree with me! Therefore you're a hater! Anger anger anger!!!"

Somewhat agreed, and if I may add, sorting out what those words mean will only cause people to use different words. Like "moron" or some similar derivation.
Void
A synonyme to "void" is "nothingness". Void is no material. Some people think it because the mod called Thaumcraft 2 introduced stuff like void ingots, void seeds, void chests and others. Or is it just a dump prefix?
Crystal
Crystal is no specific material. Crystal is a form. There are many crystals in Minecraft, like prismarine crystals, diamonds, emeralds, nether quartzes. There are also other crystallic items like iron, gold and ice. So when you call something just "crystal", it's not a good idea. Call it ruby crystal, lazurite crystal or whatever, but not just crystal.
Didn't you mention both of those things already? I haven't seen any "void" stuff, but I'll do a search later to see how common that is. I've seen plenty of suggestions about things in a a crystal form, but I never seen a thread where someone just suggests generic crystals.

It's also a rare suggestion, but occurs sometimes. Dark matter is totally invisible and can't be held by anything on the Earth. It's also one of the materrial suggested in that wishlist.
I think that section in the guide is for often recurring suggestions, and not ones that appeared just a couple of times. Maybe even ones that have appeared moderately but are so terrible that they still have no good reason to ever touch the game.

Assuming that you're talking about my animal ideas:
First off, a lot of (passive and one neutral) animals are tamable in the game, therefore I don't see what's "so absolutely awful!!!" about that, I would like a proper explanation for your opinion that it would be worthy of the guide, and it's actually possible to tame almost every animal on this planet.
Second, I never spouted with caps and other blatantly obvious grammar mistakes like that.
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? But some ideas of mobs would not fit the game for example:
*Add the shark this mob has 50 hearts and can be tamed with fish
That is a dumb idea.
Some mobs like horses, wolves, ocelots are tamable in game but that does not mean that every animal that they add have to be tamed. Also every mob mojang added to be tamable was balanced.
Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move
Do you also hate when bad suggestions are supported as Hell and good ones are forgotten or don´t get support?.

Actually no. If you support something, support it. If you don't support something, deny support. If you don't want suggestions to get forgotten, do something about it.

I'm going to make a forest mob suggestion, and it will include moose, which will not be tamable, but can be farmed. And the shark doesn't have even close to 50 hearts. You would know that if you had properly read my underwater mob ideas.

Yeah, I walked right into this. I feel bad, because I should have immediately stated that I didn't mention this because of your thread. No, me talking about the taming mobs was not from your idea. Not too long ago, I saw someone (who posted a suggestion in the most incorrect of places on this forum) who suggested "taemable endermen".
