You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.
There is no need for this long, unnecessary guide. Just let people suggest what they suggest.
So, you enjoy seeing horribly thought out suggestions, people that use bad excuses, have the same threads over and over, OP stuff, and the list continues... So I say there is most definitely a need for this. Also I know you didn't read(Or at least did not understand) this thread, because it is not limiting what they can suggest, just improving what they do decide to post.

Also take a look at this guide if you are requesting builders for a server/project.
Please note, if I deny a suggestion because it is already possible, then I mean it is already possible withing 10 command blocks (That do not spawn other command blocks) or up to 5 creations (Command blocks that spawn other command blocks) to make your suggestion.
If I critique your suggestion I am not hating on you. Learn the difference.

No you're right, let's have people make the same mistakes over and over, get their threads locked, get warning ratings and have absolutely no source of how to improve our suggestions and avoid making dumb excuses and getting flamed so bad we leave the forum forever. Pointless pointless pointless.
Honestly though, you've been a member of this forum for a single day. I don't think you're in a position to judge which guides on this forum are pointless. So I'd probably rope that back a bit if I were you.

You made an unnecessarily gigantic, vague list, largely based on ideas that YOU don't want sharing with the others, and it really makes you look like a pessimist. And age does matter. Some of the people here are children, and childrens' brains are not fully developed, as well as MANY other things that need improvement in this list of opinions/ little amount of facts. But in some cases you did well.
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!

So? What does it matter that the OP looks like a pessimist? And why is the actually pretty specific (tons of examples) list unnecessary? You say things as if they mean something, but don't clarify them so that they actually do.
And yes, Theriasis doesn't want those ideas shared. But Theriasis, at least, gives reasons. You don't.

Then they may as well start developing now and actually learn how these forums work, if they're going to be using them.

No, those aren't opinions. They're assertions. They're arguments. Let me show you the difference.

Opinion: I don't like this idea.
Assertion: This idea is bad.
Argument: This idea is bad, and here's why.
Very vague of you.
The word "bad" is subjective. It's unnecessary, because not that many suggestions are bad. Have you read through every little bit of the OP? And plus, what's wrong with other types of font, for example? If anything, they make reading extremely long posts feel like less of a chore.

You know what else makes reading extremely long threads less of a chore? Formatting. You know, what people that give half a crap of their suggestion do. Simple things like lists, spoiling away technical details, etc. Something that this UNNECESSARY thread covers.
You want to know what's more of a chore than reading extremely long threads, reading all of the asinine bakesale that this thread brings to light in literal myriads of threads. But in a world of entitled everyone's-a-winner dodge ball, I guess we have to reward mediocrity, don't we?

No, I don't look like a pessimist. I am a pessimist, but I'm also a realist that cuts the crap when making a point.
You make it sound like I made the "suggestions you shouldn't make" section just to make myself feel better. Please, take the time and search for the exact suggestions that I'm aiming to prevent in the future and give some of those threads a read. Then you'll see why I made such a list.

Whether or not the poster is a child, it does not change the fact that this forum has rules. It doesn't change the fact if some kid makes a post with awful unreadable grammar, we... still can't read it. Us knowing that the kid making the post is only 7 still does not help anything on the other end. "I did well"? I wasn't exactly looking for the swaglord676 stamp of approval but... thanks?
And as for the font thing. Not all fonts are bad, just the bad ones are bad.

See, here's the thing: The developers of minecraftforum.net strive to make this a "child-friendly" website. However, not all, but I'm guessing approx. 50% of the smaller children, have broken a few rules. Also, a lot of children are sensitive to a bunch of strangers on the internet giving him/her harsh criticism about his/her idea, and they may not understand what some of the things mentioned in the rules mean. By smaller, I mean children ages 8 and under.

This is the "everyone's a winner, give little jonny a participation award!" pandering I'm talking about. We're random strangers on the INTERNET, not the child's parents. We shouldn't be held accountable for the wellbeing and upbringing of the child insofar as we don't stray out of the rules we have agreed to. To this end, you're asking FAR too much from this guide and it's author. and I would suggest dialing it back a bit. Also, people are too sensitive and too prone to "taking offense at everything". They can go for thicker skin.

That's not our problem. If they're on this site, they have to follow the rules. Otherwise, they'll get reported, just like anyone else. And if they get harsh criticism, then I hope they learn from it. Otherwise, their emotions are not really our concern. Unless you make it your concern, of course, but rewarding them for bad suggestions is not a really bright thing to do from a child psychology standpoint. It'd be best if they just read this and knew what not to post to begin with.
If they don't understand the rules, then they should ask. Ignorance of the rules does not make you or anyone else above them.

Not that many are bad? At least 50% are redundant, vague, or ridiculously unbalanced. Another 25% don't even make sense, or sound like they're from a mod, or are formatted so that they require too much effort to read. A further 10% would be good, but have one bad thing about them that invalidates the entire suggestion (and it's the one thing the suggester won't change, of course). That leaves 15%, or 3 in 20 suggestions that are worth reading.
Are you telling me you can read this all in one go, without blinking or needing mental adjustments?
HOW ABOUT THIS, YOU DON'T FIND THIS ANNOYING AT ALL? NOT EVEN WHEN THE IDEA JUST GOES ON AND ON WITHOUT END, AND YOU CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER IF THERE WILL EVER BE A STOP TO THE HUGE, UNENDING LETTERS? THERE ISN'T EVEN USUALLY A PAUSE BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE THIS WILL CREATE RAMBLING SENTENCES WITHOUT ANY GRAMMAR OR PUNCTUATION BECAUSE THEY FAIL TO FORMAT BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO EVER READ THIS GUIDE OR LEARN ANY BASIC INTERNET ETIQUETTE! AND YES, THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE WHO TYPE LIKE THIS, IN THIS FONT, AT THIS SIZE! IT'S SURPRISINGLY COMMON!
Of course I've read through every little bit. I even refer to it from time to time.

Well, by blocking out all the "inappropriate content", it seems like they're trying to be the guardians of the kid. Also, no I'm not really annoyed by that font, I'm used to it. Personally, I think it's silly for there to be two words that mean the exact same thing, one considered offensive, the other one acceptable.

Just because swaglord676 doesn't find the font annoying doesn't mean the rest of us don't. Even if the font is not annoying, it's still stupid, and will violently yank down the integrity of the suggestion. This is Comic Sans we're talking about.
I still find it goofy that you quoted yourself in your sig. You aren't even the one who originally said "one person's trash is another man's treasure." Imagine if my sig had the following:

No, we're trying to be guardians of the forum. Regardless of age, rules are rules.
I was trying to demonstrate, but even still... Who cares if you're used to it? It's practically unreadable to me, and I think I'm in the majority here. Even if I'm not, everyone can read Arial. It makes no sense to use a font that most (or at least many) people can't read.
I'm usually inclined to agree with that last statement, but I don't make the rules. I just follow them.
I made my signature AFTER the post. This is the second time I'm saying this, not the first. I made that post, then I decided that I wanted that to be my signature. And I didn't say that no one finds that font annoying.
Yes, but you are not the originator of the phrase. It's silly of you to quote yourself as the one behind it. You should find who made that statement first and quote them instead.
You said you don't find it annoying as if it mattered, implying that the font was just fine for everyone!
Also, there's no censorship here. No one's blocking diddly jack (except mods when they find something in violation of the rules). All this guide (and For the Critics) does is show the social ramifications of being a self-absorbed egoist on a medium specifically designed for community discussion. Not a one of the contributors to this thread have the power to block anything; though we do have the power to show overall disdain with poster decisions.
It's the same as wearing faded jeans and a soiled wife beater to a 4-star restaurant after working on a car. While you're not going to be kicked from the establishment (unless it enjoys losing business by forcing a dress code), you're also not going to be taken seriously within the establishment. With that said; social ramifications don't just go byebye simply because you become an "anonymous" face on the internet.
Yes, but you are not the originator of the phrase. It's silly of you to quote yourself as the one behind it. You should find who made that statement first and quote them instead.
I'm not the one who created that phrase, but I'm one of the people who helped it reach the modern world. Also, I will try to find out who was the person who first quoted that.
EDlT: The person who first quoted that phrase was Robert Chambers, and it was rubbish, instead of trash.

I... highly, highly doubt that. That phrase was already in the modern world long before you existed. You also just slightly changed the wording of it, and then added your name at the bottom. That's pretty goofy.
Yes, I already know you added that to your sig after you made that post. That's what makes it more eyebrow raising. You posted it, and then quoted yourself in your sig like you inspired yourself. You having "swag" in your username also forces me to think you're just doing that to mess with people.
Also, I will try to find out who was the person who first quoted that.
EDlT: The person who first quoted that phrase was Robert Chambers, and it was rubbish, instead of trash.
Whoever said the quote, it's clearly not you.
Moving on. I'm not quite sure you earned the "critiquing the suggestion guide" badge just yet. Considering you made one of the most redundant ideas ever (which I'm shocked didn't get locked after the first 6 posts) and then defended that with very invalid statements this guide teaches you to not use. You even admitted yourself that most of your arguments were empty.
You then went "eh I don't care for this thread anymore" which is usually another way of saying "I ran out of stuff to say, so therefore I don't wanna keep this going."

You said you don't find it annoying as if it mattered, implying that the font was just fine for everyone!

I'm not the one who created that phrase, but I'm one of the people who helped it reach the modern world. Also, I will try to find out who was the person who first quoted that.
EDlT: The person who first quoted that phrase was Robert Chambers, and it was rubbish, instead of trash.
I... highly, highly doubt that.
