Already in presentations you need to avoid: "Suggest ideas for me!"
"Guys so like my idea is more water mobs ahhahaa ok so everyone suggest what those would be while I run away and come back to collect other people's efforts!"
No, stop. Put on your big boy pants and make the effort yourself. Suggestions aren't meant to be some potluck thing where the OP doesn't have to do anything. Either make the suggestion yourself or don't bother pooping out a thread.
If you want others to give you smaller ideas and fixes for your idea, that's fine, but don't expect other people to make up the base of the suggestion for you.
GOTO and ANCHOR statements are awesome.
Use them to create a table of contents (and sub-TOCs within the spoilers). Use anchors to send back to a root, etc.
I use this in For The Critics, and I think it makes things far easier for the reader to manage.

Don't get me wrong. It's awesome. But it seems that with all of the don't do this ones, it seems that whenever you write something that you shouldn't do, you make it like it was written by a 2 year old, while the ones that you should do is written by an experienced member.
Without that, the guide would be so ungodly boring.
How about adding "suggestions you shouldn't post" as a group.
There's several major ones that fit into here.
1) guns (there's a single exclusive thread that should be used.)
2) thirst bar (It's a tedious mechanic that usually does nothing but add frustration at the cost of gameplay)
3) new tiers of armor/weapons (Mojang said no, period) and reasons to include have already been taken care of with enchanting.
There's more you can add, but the idea is to list major culprit of "lemme just crap it out and move on" ideas that people seem to enjoy.
Here's some more stuff, they're kinda similar to a few things already in the guide/
"Know what we won't support."
Like what Yoshi9048 posted a couple comments above, these have been posted time after time and haven't been supported. Why? Because they have severe logic problems with them, putting realism over gameplay. If we liked the idea, we would've supported one of the 1,000s of other threads about this.
"Wait for more details when Mojang 'announces' a feature."
If one of the Mojangsters posts a Tweet or something hinting that a feature will be added, don't immediately go suggesting they roll back all of the changes, especially if they note that it's not finished. If they didn't even put it in a snapshot, then you have next to no idea about how it will work, so don't complain about how "Totally OP guys, nerf it!" it is.
"Don't suggest Family-Unfriendly or copyrighted/trademarked things!"
Minecraft is a pretty family-friendly game. Things die and disappear, the game focuses on creativity. So having a Drug Dealer Mob is really not in the right place, besides just stupid. Games like GTA get rated M for a reason, I doubt a good parent would be happy to see that a game rated E suddenly get bumped to M, especially in an update you need to have to play in 95% of servers. Going in the other direction, though, is just as bad, if not worse. Making it so instead of Creepers blowing up they give you presents to "protect the children" ruins the gameplay. Both of these instances alienate one part of the playerbase to mildly appeal to a demographic that was just fine before. For copyrighted/trademarked things, these are bad because Mojang will get into legal trouble if they add a Mickey Mouse Mob. Either that or they end up licensing the character, leading to a situation similar to Star Fox Adventures: A game that was fine on its own gets injected with characters from a popular franchise, not making it better and making fans go on about how "It's not a real <franchise> game!"
Now that I feel that I made a contribution, several topics under "Presentations You Need to Avoid" have a missing name for the Thank You, _____. These are both mine, and I'd appreciate it if you'd put that. I don't, however, know the contributors for the others without a name.

“The important thing is not how long you live... It's what you accomplish with your life.
While I live, I want to shine. I want to prove that I exist. If I could do something really important... That would definitely carry on into the future.” -Grovyle
Like what Yoshi9048 posted a couple comments above, these have been posted time after time and haven't been supported. Why? Because they have severe logic problems with them, putting realism over gameplay. If we liked the idea, we would've supported one of the 1,000s of other threads about this.
More specifically, "I know this suggestion is redundant as all hell and people hate it! But hey, I'm gonna post it again because I think my version will be better than the rest! Okay on to the suggestion, the thirst update! How it should work is-"
To add to presentations: Pictures don't automatically make your suggestion great
I see this sometimes in suggestions. While pictures can get us more visual details about your suggestion, it does not improve the quality of your suggestion, so don't rely completely on images to get supports.
Don't be that guy who goes: Hey guyz! my suggestion is to have creepers drop diamonds. I made a GIF of it, i'll be back for my suppertz later. swag out!
and later denies his entire life when people don't like his suggestions.
The other half of this topic is that I sometimes see many people support a redundant, or otherwise vague, thread because there are pictures included. Open your eyes people. Judge the suggestion by the actual suggestion, not just the pictures.
This has pretty pictures, so that makes it good by default... No, it doesn't really. You're just too lazy to read the whole thread so you just go based on pictures. Every time I see that, I cringe until my face breaks off.
To add to the bad excuses: "Well sooooorrryyy for not reading all the rules but it's just too long!"
Good excuse........if you want a bad reputation on this forums as well as an infraction for ignorance to the rules. This is not the way to get out of a rule breaking post.
You are expected to read the rules of at least the section that you plan to post in.
If your tiny attention is not willing to read the whole rules, at LEAST read the rules about suggestions before you go out and make a laughable post, then go and try this lame excuse.
To add to presentations: Pictures don't automatically make your suggestion great
While I agree here, there's another point. A picture is worth 1000 words, sometimes visual aids are necessary to drive home a point or reach greater understanding. However, we still have the big problem of using it as a crutch.
I'm surprised Herobrine wasn't mentioned in the "threads you shouldnt make" section. From the Minecraft wiki: "We have no plans at all to add herobrine. I doubt this will ever change." -Dinnerbone. So he'll never be added, so stop posting suggestions to add him

The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
Perhaps this can be worded a bit differently, or to coincide with the topic, but this is a big thing for suggesters to consider when making a suggestion, and it goes with a TOTAL re-clarification of how both critics and suggesters should approach suggestions. I've spoken of this before, but the concept is "intermediate technology".
The big problem here is people say all tech in MC is low-tech (false, hoppers, trapped chest, etc), or that a suggestion should be something totally new.
I say (as I always have) that the only way a suggestion (especially a new mechanic) is going to work is if it's roots are firmly grounded in Minecraft. A suggestion should always feel like a natural extension of the game instead of a shoddy stapled on attachment that frighten the townsfolk on a dark stormy night.
A good example that always comes to the fore is: "Traveling to the moon!" with some half-baked mega-craft of making a space shuttle out of materials that may as well be unobtanium and only work within the scope of the space shuttle. Whoa woah woe! That's WAY too broad spaced (pardon the pun) and you may want to dial it back in a scootch.
Again, Minecraft has dozens of blocks with only one or two implementations. USE PRE-EXISTING BLOCKS AND MECHANICS TO HELP DEFINE YOUR SUGGESTION so that it'll feel like it's a cohesive part of Minecraft instead of Frankenstein's monster. You can't expect something farfetched like laser rifles and low-orbiting ion cannons given it'd be out of place like a bicycle at NASCAR.
Don't make alt accounts to encourage/support your own suggestion.
I've seen this more than once and it's one of the most pathetic things to do. Don't be all like "Hey guys, minecraft needs herobrine in the game hurrrpa-durr"
and, when the suggestion goes down the hole, don't try to make yourself feel better by making an alt account and going. "This suggestion is the best, suppurt"
Sometimes, you don't have to be a moderator to tell when someone's an alt. Just like with backpedaling, the alt often writes the exact same way as the OP. People WILL eventually find out, so don't bother doing it.
"You didn't support because you don't understand it!"
No. I didn't support because if the bad suggestion was a person, I'd bludgeon him in public daylight. If someone says something that has nothing to do with the suggestion or was already proven wrong when the OP mentioned the idea's attributes, saying this is fine.
However, if you say this because you're in a ragey "I gotta vent!" mood because someone doesn't like your idea, you're going to start an argument that had no reason existing. Seeing situations like this are just unattractive.
OP, "I suggest we have ender creepirs that teleport to u and explODE!!!"
SmartPoster101, "No, I'm cool. That's overpowered and annoying."
guyWithA_brain, "The most destructive and infamous mob and teleport now. Have a box of nope. I'll give you 2 more boxes by friday."
cooldawg9bro, "v. cool idea support!"
OP, "Omgggg finally someone who gets it! thxx cooldawg =))!"
Else about the example of the buff creeper know that the creeper have been buffed multiples times by the game developers for seeing the difference play 1.2.5 then 1.7.10.
You will see that the 1.2.5 creeper stop exploding when he does not see you and he have less the tendency of making the game lag and then explode even if you got enough far for not having him explode (because the creeper launch an timer who check at its end where he believe the player to be even if it is outdated because there was lag and so he had wrong information.
In the same category The creeper exploding when falling from enough high feature is only for making the game less fun did you ever through "it is awesome that an creeper jumped on me and exploded without possibilities for me to know that would happen nor possibility to dodge" and that feature was not on 1.2.5 so one example of suggestion you said that it would not apply were applied.
