Just a note: I think you should put the siblings excuse with the "Backpedalling" excuse, rather than adding it as another item to the list. It would make more sense anyway.
This post covers in excellent detail exactly what not to do, maybe some pointers on what to do? I feel this post is teeming with negativity and needs some motivation to post suggestions instead of discouragement. I know there have been a lot of ideas in my head but I now know which ones won't work. I think some what to do posts could help me reinforce the ideas still in my head. Thank you!
The image part of the thread already covers that. The positives are already presented through the negatives.
It's kind of like this. "There is only A and B. One of them is bad. B is bad. Pick the only one that's good." It's pretty simple as is.

The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.

Do you actually think Theriasis is gonna rework her whole thread?
If you've been paying attention to the thread, the positives are there.

Did you read the entire guide? The positives are already presented in the first big image. And the second actually.
Hmmm... looking through the list, I found a bad presentation not listed:
Posting on your own topic as a suggester.
I've seen this tons of times. Mainly they do it to bump their thread and hope nobody notices and reports them. But it is so moronic and idiotic to try to rewire people's brains into supporting by going "dis is a really good sugestion. I don't see y ppl hate it."
Adding "This adds variety!" to the excuses section, and adding sc1020's "Self Bumping" as well as ChaosBahamut's "Eye Gouging Font" to the presentation section.

You mixed up my and Chaos's credits by accident on the thread.
Am I an idiot, or is everyone? It's hard to tell. I don't think any of us have suggested this for "threads not to make":
Herobrine Suggestions. Technically, this fits into redundancy, but now with the new "herobrine thread" rule, technically it's a different type of a lock-able suggestion.
Just thought I'd throw that out there because I feel very embarrassed that I didn't suggest that for the thread earlier.
Also, another one to add to the Threads Not to Make" section; suggestions that are already implemented into the game, and people suggesting bug fixes (which should go on the bug report website).

Implemented suggestions is already basically in "do your homework". However, bug report suggestions are absolutely needed.
Here's one you should add to the "threads you are not allowed to make" section:
Copyrighted material. I saw one guy get his thread locked for suggesting a Dalek as a joke mob, so I just thought this should be added.

There are things known as the 10 Suggestion Commandments. Many know the obvious, such as, "Thou shalt search before typing thy post," or, "Thou shalt not be vague," but one that no one knows is, "Thou shalt organize thy post." More people need to know of this commandment.
Basically, it is saying that if you didn't have time to provide all the details to your suggestion, then you shouldn't be posting it until you are able to provide enough detail. I have seen people do this.
Yeah, true that.

Don't write in Eye-Gouging fonts.
Heh, I'm surprised it took a while for something so obvious.

I have a new account called "Mushroomsock" now, so please do not send me PMs.
Fixed.

Are you sure. The closest thing I saw to it was this excuse.
"I'll explain my idea more once I get enough supports!"
However, I am saying a similar thing, but the reason being because the OP didn't have enough time to explain his suggestion fully because he had to "run off", leaving a statement saying that he will explain more later when he gets the time to. Like this thread for example...

Even though that excuse already sort of covers that, the reasoning is completely different.
