Anyways, many people I know complain about wood colors. Also, according to the new snapshot, you can get cocoa beans a lot easier now. Why not use cocoa beans as a varnish? If you craft:
Cocoa Beans + Bone Meal, you get birch varnish.
Cocoa Beans + Ink Sac, you get pine varnish.
Cocoa Beans + Red Dye (I can't think of a better substitute), you get jungle tree varnish.
Cocoa Beans + Cocoa Beans, you get oak varnish.
Just craft any wood planks with the color you want, and then you get the color of your choice. It's kinda like dying wool, so it is possible to do.
Judge this idea please. Mehr to you all.
I'd like to suggest a fifth colour of varnish. You know that goldish-orangey-yellow colour of doors/trapdoors/chests? I think that could used to make some nice looking builds if we had planks/stairs/etc. in that colour.
