I was just thinking about zombies when i had this idea. I was thinking that if a zombie kills you then a zombie should spawn where you died. When you run back to your stuff you will have to deal with it (and maybe the original zombie that killed you in the first place). This adds a new challenge to the game. Also to prevent having spawn at further than the despawn area of mobs from your stuff so it gets rid of the zombie, The zombie should spawn when you are close to it maybe 16 blocks or so away. It probably wont be added but i thought i might as well post my idea.
When I first saw this, I thought it was referring to Hardcore, once it works on multiplayer. If you're killed on a Hardcore server, depending how you died, there should be a 25% chance of you becoming a zombie and thus being unable to do anything a player can except move. You can only go zombie once though, so once they kill the zombie you, you're gone for good.
Also, I could of sworn this was happening on the PC Gamer demo, but maybe the zombies were just spawning. Everytime I came back, there seemed to be yet another zombie, until I finally got my stuff back and got out of there. Anyhow, I'd love to see this just as much as my suggestion, if not more.

"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
your idea + "you're the crepper" mod maybe will could be part of a new game mode that may consist in be another mob and live like they
