All right guys, I think I've finally done it!
I have found a way to bring back the pre 1.8 Food mechanics!
Nowadays, food is very improved.
We can stack it and store it easily, and eat it to keep up our strength
for doing things like Mining and sprinting.
But what about instant health?
Now, we do have potions for instant health, but I think
that instant health should be much more accessible
in the game than Nether content.
Do you notice how Golden Apples are used for health,
and instant health potions are brewed from Golden Melons?
Perhaps we can apply this concept to other food! For instance:
A Golden Porkchop with 8 gold nuggets surrounding a porkchop.
You can't stack it anymore; it would be a bit unfair to be able to spam
right click on a stack of 64 pork to become invincible, so one per slot,
just like the good ol' Alpha days
It will have a golden outline and Purple text.
It will instantly heal however many hearts it would heal Hunger.
If you would get Food Poisoning from that food, it gives you Health
poisoning instead. (Golden Rotten Flesh might not be a very good idea
to use!)
Tell me what you think, guys. This would really bring Minecraft back
to the good old days, but still maintain the old hunger system
and be optional but useful.
I think 'gold-ifying' should be limited to porkchops, to give pigs more use. Either that, or stop 'gold-ifying' from being applicable to steak, as I believe cows are too useful compared to pigs nowadays.
I don't know about having more golden foods, but if it's just golden porkchops, then I'm okay with it. We could use some another instant health food/ item or two. However, not every food has to have a golden equivalent and defintely not Steaks. You can get as many three from a cow and often do, or at least I do. More often than not, I only get 0-1 porkchops from Pigs.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
