The idea is pretty simple. Everytime you get an achievement you get Level or get XP. The amount of Levels or XP you get depends on how hard the achievement is. So for example; you get the achievement Getting Wood you would get enough XP to level up once, but for the harder achievements like Return To Sender ( Where you have to destroy a ghast with a fireball) you would level up 10 times. They should also add more achievements to the game to give you more challenges to do. They should also add tiers to each achievement that go up to 5 so you can get them again. So if you got the achievement Diamonds! then you can go for the second tier which would be getting 10 diamonds. The Higher Tier the more Levels or XP you get. Is this a good idea?
I've never thought of changing achievements... But that's genius!
But I think Notch once said he wanted the achievements in minecraft to be "One time only challenges", or something along those lines, so higher levels of achievements might not happen.
But I suppose that wouldn't stop exp rewards being possible. But if EXP rewards were to be put onto achievements, the achievements would have to be one: reset, then two: changed to be specific to a player on each world, rather than a player on any world (otherwise you could get all the achievement EXP on one world, then never be able to get it again if you make a new world).
Your ideas are very good, but they might not be too simple to implement.
This would be pretty cool if they added it. Achievements could do something useful. I kinda like how you get it once and your done though which tiers would ruin.

Unrelated-I live close by to you. Blew my mind.
if you get all the points for the achievements, and you die, you lose all that experience permenantly
that's really the only problem i see, but still good thinking
