pigs dig for underground mushrooms/truffles in real life so why not in minecraft.
also, pigs will not just dig in random spots, they will dig where the mushrooms/truffles are (they will be able to detect them)
truffles apparently they are called "the diamond of the kitchen" but like most mushrooms they can be poisonous, maybe there's a 7% chance you will be poisoned and a 93% chance you will receive the same nutrition as a cooked porkchop.
clarification: the poison will be spider eye poison 50% of the time and zombie flesh poison 50% of the time
Yeah, pigs digging for mushrooms sounds like a cool idea
I see my title caught your eye.

I like this idea.
Goldenleader01 mentioned a leash though.
I'm assuming that would be crafted with three diagonal pieces of silk similar to the way bowstrings are crafted?
Also, Would they always be able to find truffles flawlessly, or would they occasionally dig to discover nothing?
Sounds like a cool idea though.
that would add to the value of pigs rather than just leaving them as bacon, and would let the player make decisions as to
whether or not to spend the resources to make a leash or not.

that is exactly what I wanted to have someone write, I've always thought pigs needed more uses. and maybe pigs could be distracted by above ground mushrooms.
