I was thinking that the Minecraft world would look if little older
If you could find trees lying on their side, buried in the dirt.
As if they fell down long ago.
For me, it would make the world seem more like it wasn't just created, and you
somehow got abandoned in the wilderness
I support this, it is something that would add variety to forests and would make it look nicer. In addition, there should be a new wood block that would be appropriate for a fallen tree, but when you destroy it you would just get a regular wood block that you can use ;).

All I actually wanted was for the Minecraft world to feel more ancient It also seems that sideways Log blocks are problematic, due to the game not having them...
Jeb may have to make a duplicate entity. Balls anyway, I really thought this would make it through
How about a "decayed wood block" that is found very commonly in swamps and occasionally in other tree-bearing biomes? This wood block, unlike others, would be dark, crooked, soggy-looking, and would lie on its side. It would also drop four wooden sticks on destruction (It would be weaker than regular wood, and could be mined in its original form with a silk touch tool) so it wouldn't be a replacement for wood but more of an aesthetic touch.
maybe make it change (rotate) the texture of the trees when another block of the same type is on the the side of it like how fences change to connect to blocks
