Deities:
Basically gods in Minecraft I mean why not minecraft is medieval so there should be gods. You build an altar for the God and name it (possibly) or not. There should be different ones like a God of crafting or a Goddess of nature or a God of battle or even a God of mning. So depending on what you offer to the God(s) on your altar is dependent on what they give you such as offer the God of mining some gold and expect something better than giving him stone or dirt or give the God of battle an iron sword and recieve double damage done to enemies stuff like that. The better the offering the better help they give you such as bonuses to health or longer durability to a tool or you mine faster than before. Most bonuses would more or less be temporary like for a day or so while some would be permanent like an extra heart for health. But I know some people would not want the help from a God or would like to do stuff on their own so all they would do is to not build an altar it's as easy as that. And if they don't want to worship their God(s) any more all they would do is destroy the altar (Note: That may anger the gods so be prepared for fire raining down from the heavens or mobs spawning more than usual.)
Random Events
Now random events might have have been suggested but oh well. Random events such as meteor storms, tornadoes, tsunamis or even storms happens well randomly. They just mess with the gameplay every so often and possibly depending on the theme you would get different random events (For example: Hell theme gets lava tsunamis and it rains fire as opposed to normal which is the same cept with water.) Now the reason I put it with deities is that they can also cause random events (but then are they really random?) like give the Goddess of nature a couple wheat or some flowers and She give you rain for your crops or monsoon season or possibly something like that. But a random event should have a little hint to as its going to happen like a storm is about to happen because you notice the clouds are getting darker and you should fine shelter or you see the waves out in the ocean getting bigger maybe you should find shelter. And always this would be an option you can choose to turn on or off in the options.
Those are my suggestions I would like to hear what everyone thinks of them. :biggrin.gif:
This is sort of two suggestions.
There are threads with both topics individually, on the same page, even.
"might have have been suggested but oh well" is a horrible excuse for "I didn't even try searching."
The ideas themselves are alright, but it's really convoluted and making sure you don't **** off certain gods doesn't sound fun. I don't want to have to remember which god does what on what theme.
Yea i should of suggested random events in another thread but it seemed somewhat related in that gods cause random events to happen.
But the thing about angering the gods and the themes maybe I should of been more specific. You choose one God and they give you different benefits to your character/environment depending on their theme(Mining - more minerals faster pick axe all that jazz). Now angering a God however wouldn't necessarily mean he/she would likely kill you, it would just mean they wouldn't help as much as they would or just do little things like you Goddess of Nature and you've been lacking on offerings then she may make it snow and kill some of your crops. But you can also get back in their good graces by giving them more offerings or even by praying at the altar.
