The knockback for all entities from explosions is unrealistically small. An increased knockback from explosions would make the game more interesting (the player would get blasted away by creepers), and it would make TNT cannons possible with less TNT (the TNT would fly farther from the other TNT exploding on it). I think the knockback should be 3 times what it is now.
NOTE: This is not a suggestion requesting that mobs/players take more direct damage from explosions.

It works with racks and racks of TNT, but that's expensive. Plus, with so many entities, it becomes inaccurate and glitchy. The TNT may shoot to the right or to the left for all you know, or it may blow itself up.
