I was derping around on my castle's tower today and wanted to place trap doors over the hole made by the stairs. I thought "Hey, to make this less intrusive, I'll just line the hole with half blocks and attach the trap doors to those." I couldn't though. So I'm suggesting that this be implemented. I can't really forsee any problems with it since any blocks placed on top of a half block float above it, leaving room for the trap door to swing up.
Here's a picture I slapped together to show what I'm sayin'.
Sorry about the confusion. What I mean is, currently trap doors can only be attached to the sides of full blocks. I'm suggesting they should be able to attach to the sides of half blocks also.
Yeah, this would be useful. Actually, it would be nice if trap doors could be free standing (remained placed when the side block was destroyed), so that you could have trap doors where the bottom aligned to the floor, without putting them adjacent to a wall.

Ohh... so that's what you mean. Well then, I'll have to agree with you. That is one of my problems.

Well, I can't really find out what you want to show us. Can you explain in a shorter way?
BUT I do get the general idea, but I can't imagine how trap doors can swing in the space between half block and block ..... am I getting this wrong !!
