well Ive seen it a few times mentioned in the forums but not a real subject so here's what i thought
Crossbows are like bows but
-fire slower
-shoot much farther (idk about almost all the way across a small map when fired horizontally)
-and do more damage
they could be crafted by
whereas brick is a bow. obsidian is nothing and. wood is sticks (or parts which would be crafted from sticks)
the ammo is the same as the normal bow but have to be held in a quiver. which holds 30 bolts
without armor on it would kill another player in about 3 hits. if the player had stone armor it would take 4 , iron would take 5 and diamond armor would take him 6 hits to break the armor then an extra 3 to lower his health
(this would only apply if some 1 had a complete set of armor on i.e. stone helmet, plate, boots and legs.)
also it will break after 60 (or so) shots so you would have to craft another
I think bolts should be made of two iron ingots, since they're made of metal and they're stronger like that.
Reloading time for crossbows is really slow. I remember Notch saying something about how the bow will have the ability to "charge up" as in accumulate power and distance. It should be the same for crossbows, except it will take a lot longer, for a lot more force and distance.

No no no! Bolts don't have feathers on them. they are just solid, sharpened cylinders.
Like iron gold(only if enhanced with magic gems) and daimond.

This would be compadable with crossbows.
