Ok so I've dabbling in enchantments and I've always hated not knowing where my hard work is going. Unless you have a xp grinder, getting enough levels for an good enchantments is a pain in the butt. I've done some reading online to see if there was a way to decode the language and some people said even if you do translated it then it is still completely random. If this is true then enchantment in my opinion is a waste of my time. I think once you enchant an item then what ever the effect was should be translated in the game so you can get the same one again or avoid it. It would make people want unlock all the enchantments and know what they are getting. I don't think you should be told what level you are getting just what you are getting. I hate getting unless enchantments on weapons and tools then be left with no levels.
My main complaint with the enchantment system is that getting to lvl. 50 without killing the enderdragon or an xp farm is near impossible. But I do agree that the enchantment system sould be at least less random.

It's all luck, like the lottery.
You either hit it terrible, bad, good, great, or 6 level 10 enchantments.
My idea for a fix would be new ores in the nether. One or more of these ores would double (on top of possibly being used in one or more potions) as an enchantment enchancer. Enhancers DON'T necessarily gurantee you get a specific enchantment, only make it more likely. They can be made into single and double crystals/ helixs (possibly triples). The better versions make your chances more likely, but they're still no gurantee. That's where the decipherer comes into play.
One of the items used to craft it would appear in Nether Ruins chests, but only very rarely. (5% of the time) It is uncraftable. There's a much smaller chance of finding the deciperer itself in them to, but it's like .00001%. Alternatively, I'll just stick it doesn't appear in those chests. Another one of the items is really quite obvious. It's a diamond. One of the nether ores would also be one of the four items needed. (though it'd be the rarest nether ore, for good reason) Finally, the enderdragon egg is needed. This is an endgame item, after all. Once you combine all four item, you create the most mystical of all items. All you have to do now is craft it with a normal enchantment table and boom, you get the Mystic's Table, an enchantment table that works like the Better Enchantments mod. You can finally chose your enchantments.
The third part of my idea is XP. I personally think mobs should drop varying amounts of XP. Animals would still drop their usual 1-2 XP orbs, but mobs would vary. Now, I'm not saying all mobs should drop different amounts, just the ones that for them to drop three as well is stupid, like Endermen. XP drop rates would depend on the class of mob. Weak would be Silverfish and maybe Wolves. (Weak = 3 or three small orbs) Basic would be Zombies and Spiders, possibly Wolves, but not Cave Spiders. (Basic = 5 or two small, one big) Zombie Pigmen and Skeletons would be in Group 3. (7 xp orbs) Creepers and Ghasts (possibly Blazes (overworld)) would be in Group 4. (10xp orbs) Cave Spiders would be in Group 5. (15 xp orbs) Blazes (nether) would be in Group 6. (25 xp orbs) I'm not sure where Slimes and Magma Cubes would fall, but they'd probably vary based on size. Endermen would be in Group 7. (40 xp orbs) The Dragon would in group 10-15.
Okay, this system is an EXAMPLE. That's probably a little too much on the high end and maybe Blazes (nether) should be above Endermen. When I say Blazes (nether), I mean ones spawned in the Overworld, whether by mods or SpawnerGUI mod would be nerfed in the Overworld, thus preventing Overworld Blaze farms (like ones where people put watery floors in) from benefitting people too much.

"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
The words generated are random and have no bearing on the actual enchantment.
Also, your signature strikes me as pretentious. I'll ignore all the songs I want, dammit!
I'm pretty sure you read the wiki or something wrong, the enchantments shown are random, not the words corresponding to them, I think it's called the galactic alphabet.

It's The Standard Galactic Alphabet.
And, yes, it is from another video game.
If you translate the letters, you'll get a gibberish sentence.
If the letters were translated in vanilla it would make the enchanting table look stupid...
I wasn't just saying translate it because it is still random so it would be pointless. I was saying my the language already used to be random until you identify the enchantment(like roguelike games do). If they don't want to make it be able to be translated then they could atleast make it less random.
