Minecraft has no true set genre so it can be any. Keep that in mind....
1. The Mace
It's a spiky ball on a stick.
First, the spikes for the spiky ball. They're quite cheap.
C = Tool material
N = Nothing
NNN
NCC
NNN
This nets two spikes.
Next, the spiky ball.
S = Spike
T = Tool material (same as spike)
N = Nothing
NSN
STS
NSN
This only nets one.
Finally, the weapon of mass skeleton head-bashing-in:
B = Spiky ball
S = Stick
N = Nothing
NBN
NSN
NSN
This (obviously) gives just one.
The stats are complicated so I'll post those in a bit once they're fully figured out.
2. The Crossbow
It's a much more exact bow. It uses arrows.
How to craft:
R = Iron
B = Bow
S = Stick
N = Nothing
BRR
RSN
RNS
It has three times the durability of a normal bow and deals twice as much damage with the same number of charge levels. It is incredibly accurate. The only bow useable is an unused, unenchanted bow.
I've suggested a crossbow pleanty of times, and it was more in detail than this. -.-
Right here
You have hardly any detail, and that cripples the post. Besides that, what would they add that other items don't? How would the mace differ from the sword, and besides that, wouldn't it cripple the sword if the mace is cheaper? The concept is there, but it's riddled with absences of any form of detail and consideration to gameplay. Please revise this...
The mace costs 2 sticks and 5 of the material. A sword costs 1 stick and 2 of the material. Did you read the entire article on the mace? Oh, and this is a base idea that I'll build up on later.
If the crossbow is that powerful, it should be harder to make. I mean, triple durability and double damage for only a bow, one piece of iron, and a stick seems a little overpowered if you ask me...

That cross bow works just the same as a bow, but just way more powerful. What would it add to the game? It would just make there more snipers. I don't think many people like to be walking around, full life, no armor, and just die suddenly with nothing they could do about it, I'd hate that.
Another idea would be a knife. It would be the same as the sword but only one material on a stick so you could make it without a crafting table. It could be less powerful than a sword but you could swing faster with it.
I was going to make a post much like this but more detailed. So instead I will just supplement this mediocre idea with my thoughts.
First a mace should have a slower attack rate, more damage to armor then person (where sword would have more direct hit to player),
Second a crossbow should have a slower charge rate, longer shot, higher damage. Bow should then have quicker draw.
I was also thinking about spears. Flint on top of two sticks across, plus upgraded to iron and diamond, Less damaged and longer attack range
Shields are an interesting idea, but you would need dual handed ability along with more keypad L/R click unless it is only a utility like wearing armor. If implemented this should also have the possibility of holding torches that light the area around you.

Oh, more weapons that are no different than the ones we already have.
What, more damage, better accuracy? These aren't needed in the game. We don't need new weapons that are just stronger variants than the ones we already have.

I'll add more in a jiff.

There's a difference between a hero and a champion. A champion overcomes threats, but a hero overcomes fears.

Then there's also a Youtube channel I'm somewhat involved in.
Free + Crabs + Ability to trample/suffocate opponents in Cortex Command = Free Bombs.
