Please read everything. Do not skim! It is quite humorous...
This idea is only applied for a non-flat Creative Mode.
Okay, so at one point or another we all decided to build something BIG! I mean very very very big! And we all know that the very first step into building this is to flatten out the land. There are a few ways to do this. One way is to just play in the flat world mode and the other is to search for flat land. But lets say you enjoy all of those pretty mountains and you already have a city and you want to build this phenomenon near it.
The problem is that you have to MINE and MINE and MINE away those blocks until you get a good flat foundation. Sure, you could just TNT the dang Earth and cover it up, but those stupid mobs always find their lil' old ways of somehow appearing out of nowhere and ANNOY you with their STUPID groaning! Then you have to go in the pitch black and kill them, find the openings where the mobs entered, dig your way back up, and wait a couple more days to repeat that STUPID time-wasting cycle.
*sighs*
Alas, there is another way. *lights dim* Layered deletion. That's right. Perhaps make a block, or an option, whereas you can set how many layers to destroy! Confusion, right? Well, then keep on reading...
Lets say we want a 5000x5000 flat piece of land to build..oh say….a castle. A very big one. You get this "block" and set it to:
x="5000"; z="5000"; y="-1". And of course, the origin will be in the middle. That means 2500 blocks on your left and 2500 blocks on your right. Plus a block layer downwards. And if you somehow make a mistake and delete your entire city, just click the Redo button. XD
Think about it. 5000x5000 blocks! That is 25,000,000 blocks you must destroy with your lil' diamond shovel. It takes about a half of a second to destroy a block. That is over 34,722 hours. Also, you must add in the probability of accidentally going one block below and over the target (~1:8). And it takes about 10 seconds per 100 blocks to correct your mistake! That is 37,326 hours of nothing but digging! That is over 4.2 years! But with my LLD idea, it would take a few milliseconds.

I said this idea must be applied in non-flat creative mode.
Did you hear my example? 5000x5000 blocks! That is 25,000,000 blocks you must destroy with your lil' shovel. It takes about a half of a second to destroy a block. That is over 34,722 hours. Oh and this idea is suppose to be self-intergrated. Mobs could work, but what if you were on a library or a school computer?

People do this all the time with WorldEdit and MCEdit and lots of other programs. And if you're building a castle that big, might as well use MCEdit or WorldEdit in the first place.
Edit: Who the hell has Minecraft on a school/library computer? Something small like Powder Toy or OECake I could understand, but Minecraft? Really? I know some people don't have their own computers, but at least everyone that has said so has said that they use a parents/relative's computer. A school/library computer...why...it's a public computer. You probably shouldn't be downloading Minecraft on there in the first place...

Just because you don't do it doesn't mean everyone else does it.
Oh and there is a browser version, you know.

Then shouldn't flying and spawning any creature you want be a mod too?

I guess, but perhaps an option where you can deactivate this special block or maybe something where you can't use this block in multiplayer mode.
Oh and you spelt "somone."

Okay, so let your's truly summarize this:
- It deletes a LOT of blocks
- It has easy controls
- It has a redo button
- It can save a lot of time
I would love this idea!HUh? Well? Tell me your criticism!
It should only be available in creative mode, not survival mode.
*Drumroll*
I've made....
THE SHOVEL!!!!!!!
Also Worldedit etc.

[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.

a) somone activates this in the middle of your city and deletes everything or
oh b+) make that face.
