There are water pools in Deserts which are kiiiiinda like Oasi, but oasi in Minecraft should be much more.... planty.
I will post an image soon, but for now, I'll give you a description.
The pools of water will now be surrounded by grass. (Dry grass, but grass)
There will also be 1 to 3 jungle trees, as well as an array of beautiful flowers.
There should also be a sort of glowing mushroom or flower there to light up the place so that
hostiles can't get in, so it's sort of like a safe haven. (Personally, I think the Cyan Flower from
Minecraft Pocket Edition would be great for the lightsource plant)
Agree as well and support. We need our deserts a little less watery. No more rivers cutting right through it. (or they could at least end shortly after entering a desert biome, forming a "lost river" .. google it if you need to) No more random pools of water. Only Oasises and desert wells.

"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
Yeah, reminds me of a picture I saw once... forgot where. It was something like this:
Oh no! Our jungle's out of water! What do we do! (shows picture of jungle without any generated water pools)
GO TO THE DESERT! (shows picture of desert with natural water every ~10 meters)

So, I support this.
