REMOVE WOOD SHADES
I think that this is a step in the wrong direction, it takes away from the minecraft feel and makes building and space conservation harder. What is the point of have multiple shades of wood?
i think it's so you have more diversity and options when building something.
I think the cherry colour could be richer, though. Maybe they could make stains and paints, and then have all wood one colour.. that'd make 'space conservation' issue go away but still allow the options for people who want them. Right?
It makes building much more varied. I don't have problems with building with colored wood. It's a great thing, actually. Now shut up, since plenty of people love the feature.
What is the point of have multiple shades of wood?
What's the point of multiple types of stone bricks? What's the point of multiple types of sandstone? What's the point of having multiple colours of wool? What's the point of multiple types of logs? In fact, what's the point of having multiple types of blocks in the first place?
Nothing, they're for decorative purposes, and they've always been there so why are you only complaining now?

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
This is such an amusing statement. What is the "Minecraft feel"? How is it being damaged by different shades of wood? Why should I care? The answers generally wind up being "dunno," "dunno," and "dunno," respectively.
I am having no difficulties dealing with different colors of wooden planks, especially because I use Jungle trees more than anything else. I have perhaps one or two odd-colored planks floating around, and I'm just going to craft those into sticks.
