People are talking about larger Craft Tables and stuff and the idea came to me a while ago (I also posted it in another thread a while ago), that instead of constructing a single large Craft Table, you place two next to eachother, forming an advanced or upgraded craft table (Which I like to call workshops) just like placing two chest next to eachother. Along with that, there would be different combinations of workshops that could be discovered, like crafting.
For examples, I will use pictures of basic blocks to represent different craft tables. As you can see, all the other craft tables need the basic craft table first.
The basic craft table we all know and love.
[iron] An anvil used for small metal crafts. Can be used for arrow heads, jewlery, etc. Created by placing metal bars in the shape of an anvil.

A large stone craft table. It could be used for stone crafts like smashing rock into gravel and then into sand.

A lab type craft table, used for creating certain things like potions or Poisons. Made from metal.

A spinning wheel, used for turning cotton or wool into thread and spider webs into silk. Made from sticks and wood.

So placing workshops next to eachother would create a combination workshop, used for better things. I try to steer clear of placing two of the same next to eachother, so that way you can place similar workshops in rows without them interacting.
[iron] A workshop used for Armour and stuff.
A workshop used for Statue Pieces and Stone decorations.
A workshop used for bomb assembly, explosives, or cannon balls.
A workshop used for clothing.
I've also been thinking about 2x2 craft tables which would create what I like to call factories used for even bigger things.
So for instance
[iron] A factory used for creating mine carts.
[iron] A factory used for creating cannons.
Now of course this isn't a full idea and it desires input from the community, so of course give it some feed back or feel free to suggest your own additional workshops and combinations.
Other ideas could be boat factories, clockwork tables which could craft locks, etc. and combined with the basic table could create mechanisms.
Actually, this is a really good idea. We don't need [i]thousands[i] of new tables, just maybe:
Basic tables... you know, 3x3
Advanced/large tables 4x4 crafting, for more complex stuff... i don't really know, but you get the point
Metalwork tables needed to craft things with metal/gems
Any ideas?
I love the idea of an "add-on" to the original crafting table :biggrin.gif:
sticking with just the 4 "add-ons" would keep things less complicated and would work nicely into notches acheivement map.

There might even be different (or even non-square) shapes for each table/workshop thingie. :tongue.gif:
