What I find so interesting about this suggestion is how the glass is made with the cauldron. We'll finally have a reason to make one, and I'll have a reason for using piston trains to ship the stuff to other bases.
Thank you
Actually, I may be wrong depending on how their lighting engine is set up but they may only have to modify a simple RGB property when a colored block is adjacent to the light source.
I support this idea greatly. I know there's probably not much i can say about it that hasn't already been said, but... There have been many times i have wished i had colored glass while playing minecraft! And also i like that you are suggesting this be for vanilla, not for mods. And your original post is very detailed, awesome and has great art!

HAHA! minecraft 2.0 was in my opinion the greatest feat this thread has pulled off as of yet! i know its unofficial and was simply a joke, but it proves two things clearly:
One: Mojang are completely aware of its support, to a degree that it was picked out amongst all the suggestions we have here and chosen to be in this mock-version, which brings me to the second point:
TWO: Colored glass is officially in the code! It has literally been implemented in a semi-official client-release! This is almost as good as it gets, it was obviously rushed and put together quickly, but the code for it is literally in the system now! They will simply have to polish it and BAM, its a head canon feature in the game! Well done community! We did well! ;D
I'm not against this, but I don't like the coloured sand, it seems like a waste of item IDs, I think there are better ways for Mojang to spend their time coding extra blocks; more decorations please!... I honestly prefer the "joke" recipe from the April Fool's 2.0 thingy, because it seems more balanced (Blue glass shouldn't cost one lapis each when red costs half a flower)
Mechanically though, this idea seems fine; we might have to do without the coloured light to begin with though, knowing Mojang.
There is more than one recipe suggested in the OP. You missed the best one! o.o
Btw what is the crafting recipe use din 2.0? I must have missed it.

Just wanted to wish this thread a happy birthday! It is officially one year old now
Yey! :3 I remember it like it was yesterday, spending the night photoshopping those diagrams instead of doing my paper on geothermal energy XD
A whole year and support still going strong! Thank you everyone! :3
lets just hope mojang's April fools joke was a hint and not just a cruel prank on their fans.

it's just multicolored glass blocks.
I literally remember it as though it is one month old, because I haven't been on this for even a month yet.
Perhaps the april fools joke was to include coloured glass in the april fools which was actually an april fools joke considering that it won't be april fools when it arrives in a new version, but perhaps the april fools was created in celebration that this thread was made on april fools? Happy Birthday thread!

Does the colored glass actually change the color of light that passes through it? Or is it just simply multicolored glass blocks?
