I really wish I could, but there is already a pole I'm using that activates every so often...
Maybe a stupid question but, is there a way to make 2 poles?
*edit* well apparently I can add more questions but they don't save or show up in the op. :/
Yep, I was wondering if you have up up a question in for what method people prefer. I think that would be a little be a little bit easier if Mojang was to take a look at this post, that was they would know which method is preferred by the community.

Hey, if you want to make sure I saw what you said, quote me on it.
I've wanted colored glass for a while and have had this in my signature for ages. Jeb has said that it wasn't viable in the current game, but Dinnerbone is overhauling lighting in 1.5, which means this may be added in the future. Diamonds for all (if they hadn't moved the button to where I can't find it)!!!
EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention that Forestry (a BuildCraft add-on) does add stained glass, but not the light.
great! I had thought of something like a past time, but do not know how to develop mods...
Excuse me if there is any mistake in English, is why I'm Brazilian
My wife who is very artistic would also LOVE this.
Oh you are a teacher? I heard that minecraft is being used more often in the school classroom to teach kids critical social, technical and creative skills. I think it's fantastic that teachers like yourself are using Minecraft for it's potential to teach.
I too am an artist, most people who don't have a good understanding of the visual arts don't know how crucial colored light can be and how much value it can ad aesthetically; until they see it.
This is a good idea, since, it will be good for decoration, I think this might be strange but, What about if it was used for being a good light source, It could have a light level, normal is normal... high is high and since it's high if you go within that radius it might hurt you, just like how in real life if you touch a light bulb that's really bright and has been on for a while, it would hurt your finger, and plus there should be a way of adjusting the light.
I would love to see this happen! I actually created this account just no to add this idea in, and I'm not surprised to see this already wanted I very much hope to see it in the future; it sounds like it's possible.
Perhaps if we could add milk into colored glass panes, to make them more opaque--so we could build stained glass structures. Still transparent--just more "milky".
And maybe also the ability to create half panes, so you could go a bit further with designs.
IKR! This idea should be in Minecraft already along with mine and googiesh's idea for the Thorns enchantment. Yes, the Thorns enchantment idea was mine and googiesh's idea lol.

Soooo i dont know how to put this but if this isnt a mod then how did you get coloured glass in your minecraft and also this is incorrect. [NOTE] This is not a mod, nor could it be a mod. It is a SUGGESTION for VANILLA, Because that is the only way it is possible. As it is possible to make this a mod FACT!!!
No it is correct. No mods can be made of this suggestion until the minecraft light engine is updated. yes, colored glass can be created but overlay effects and colored light are currently impossible to implement into a mod using the current engine. So if this were to happen mojang might as well implement it into vanilla while they update the engine. So no mods.
If you want just colored glass, there are mods for that however they don't look as good as they could if the engine were built to support a sort of overlay blending. Right now colored glass mods make the glass look cloudy much like how ice looks which means the color could never be very rich either. Its a half assed excuse to colored glass if you ask me.
Oh and I did post a disclaimer under the image stating that it was an image that I made with Photoshop and Maya. It is not a real screenshot. Please re-read the op.

It would add another physics lesson combining light and color!!!
I would LOVE this.

I'm sure you and your wife would agree. -_^

But I do have one question (Please don't diminish me as a troll), why do we even need colored glass?
