This was so epic, I couldn't read it; because it was too bright. JK! +1'D.

This signature has absolutely no point at all. And then it has a point to inform you that it has no point, but it has no point because it really doesn't have a point, but it has a point because it tells you it has no point... and ah, screw this.
Very nice, very innovative, and would look great as a decoration, maybe even as a substitute for other light sources, such as torches and glowstone. I think it would look beautiful in well-made adventure maps as well.
Well it wouldn't replace any light sources; you would essentially 'wrap' the glass blocks around a light source to create colored light.
I see this topic still alive :3 As of the next 1.4 update, coloring leather will be possible and in MANY different colors. This would've problaply also apply to this idea, so if you add both red dye and bone meal it would become... pink?
Nice work though, muffin! I'd say this is one of the most well-done topics in the forum.
I can speak for my entire sever (12 people) and that we all would support colored / lighted glass. To echo others in this thread, there would be a whole new array of possibilities (i.e.: castles, churches, discos, caves paths, haunted houses).
Still supporting! (keeping the thread alive ;D )
I must say, after all the time I've spent on this forum, this is still by far the most well-thought through and ingenious addition to vanilla I have and probably will ever see! The point of suggesting things is to flesh out the game with new experiences and functions, many people just suggests ways to make things easier, which I think is mod-territory. But this one really proves to be a water-proof excellent way to add a whole new dimension to minecraft environments. Even though I am most flabbergasted by the concept of colored lights, and all that this would add to the game, colored glass is a great way to implement it as well as simply work as a great decoration. No number can measure the amount of thumbs i am upping at this topic, may the force be with you!

Aww thank you :3
Also apart from that being a nice comment, it is also spot on as to the real purpose of this thread. I just updated the OP with a notice saying that this suggestion was never meant to be a mod but an addition to vanilla. This comment explains my reasoning well. If you wouldn't mind, could I quote your comment int he op?

Very cool idea, and you've clearly put a lot of work into it. I'd love to see this implemented, and all the beautiful creations that could come with it.

If I knew anything about creating a mod, I'd take this challenge.
