What happens when there are two or more colored lights around the same area? Which light color will win? Also what happens when there are two glass blocks of different colors stacked on top of eachother. Would the first glass block determine the color or the second block?

it really depends on the proccessing power it requires to do this. if someone can figure out a way to make it very efficiant then the lights could just simply mix like in real life, if not, then there would have to be some rules set in place for hierarchy(expressed in my diagrams) that would help eliminate lag and create a more cohesive system for people to work with.
So, this will work like the colored glass in the Minecraft 2.0 April fools joke? And if Mojang decides to impliment it, will you be more then happy? lol IK I would be too!

Actually the version I have proposed in this topic would work a little differently than the one in the april fools 2.0 snapshot. my version uses overlay blending of the glass color and the background to make the glass more vibrant and less 'cloudy'. But it would be cool to have colored glass either way they do it
And of course I would be happy but most importantly so would everyone supporting and contributing to this topic :3

If things work out with the POC my team and I are working on, this would be as simple as to just add the blocks you want, then tell in the code, what kind of colored light you want it to use. That way all mods would be created as they are today, but with most of them receiving a small update from their creators where they would add support for the our colored light mod. (when it's done that is, as of right now we are working on getting to the POC before we feel we can show anything off, and we have talked to several people, Galactic_Muffin included, about how we would like this mod to develop).
That being said, if we can get this to work, it would be the definite basis for all Colored Lighting in MC and should be easy to implement for other mods so as they would not conflict with one and the other. That way you could have several mods running, where all or some of them are using from the Colored Lighting Mod's library to project colored light

Yes, again, this is kind of the proposition we want to make. Anyone that creates a mod can distinguish what (and maybe how) light is projected in the MC world, but it would only have to hook into the libraries of the mod we are currently in the concept face of.
That way, any already existing mod or any future mods would and should be able to run the libraries from our base mod to project the colored light they want (given it is in our library, but we should be able to add as many lights as we want ). Hopefully this will make it easy for other modders to use and spread the popularity of the mod
That way this mod; Your mod concept G_M, would be very easy to execute and send to the community

I do support this. You should add a Poll!

Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.

We're not sure yet... We have to get the base working first
