While I don't think colored light in itself would be necessary, colored glass would indeed be a welcome addition. Yes, we all wanted to make stained glass windows at some point, and I'd like to see NPC villages being spawned with churches that have stained glass windows- then at least the priest villager would make sense! The additional step of crafting colored sand also opens up a lot of new options, and not just artificial: there are places on Earth, after all, where colorful sand occurs naturally- why not in Minecraft?
I support colored glass. I would really like to have that in my builds, but I'm not sure about colored light. It's a really good idea though, don't confuse me being unsure about it with me hating the idea. I just don't know if Mojang would add such a big expansion in one update.
This is such a great idea. I would prefer the cauldron method, though. Also, it would be better to allow the ability to dye glowstone itself, so you don't have to have these ugly blobs of glass around every glowstone.
Great idea! The only thing I don't like is the crafting recipes and the way it's naturally found. Oh yeah, and it's name.
1. Coloured glass->Tinted glass.
2. Surround a dye with glass and that'll give you 8 tinted glass of the colour.
3. Having it naturally found is weird...
I like it this way because Mojang were actually going to add "tinted glass" that way. Turned out to be an April Fool's joke
But the way glowstone effects it is awesome! I certainly support! (Delicious)
This is brilliant! After seeing the first picture with colored glass in the cavern, I could see your colored light idea being implemented into the gem ores as well - So far, Redstone is the only ore that is luminescent in any way. Having Redstone, Diamond & Emerald Ore give off Blue and Green light in a cave would be pretty neat!
Another thing that would be good to have implemented is different types of quartz. The Nether Quartz' current texture doesn't really have a Nether-like feel. I could imagine having different textured Quartz that can be found and mined in the overworld - Crystal Quartz, Emerald Quartz, Redstone Quartz, Diamond Quartz, and so on - each giving off there respective light. Getting back to the Nether Quartz, that could be re-textured into a Smokey Quartz.
Also, the Colored Glass would be a great addition to NPC churches.
Bravo, supported! I can tell you have thought this out very well!
We have dyed wool, we have dyed armor, we have stained clay, colored glass is NEXT! And it seems that not only can we make beautiful works with colored lights, but also colorful beaches. I hope they're ready for multiple light colors intersecting each other. Oh and what can we do about the lag? Try checking out the frame rate, I chose "optifine," which raises your FPS rate.
I like the idea of colored glass, but I don't see my using it too much. I do think that it would be a good edition for map makers and just for survival worlds also. Support+
Looks cool, but it is more of a mod. I would not want this in the game.
Exactly the opposite. The fact that this is NOT part of the game is outright bad, seeing how much aesthetic value it holds. And for your Information: It is pretty much impossible to make a mod out of this without Vanilla supporting it, so there is that.
