Hey, bro! It looks like a pretty cool idea, and it'd be cool if vanilla MC had the colored light, but with 1.7, there is colored glass, of course. If you have shaders installed, most shaker packs I believe create colored light when light comes through stained glass.
Support! I don't understand why MC didn't incorporate this early or had it in the first place. Colored light would be quite trivial to implement from what I know about OpenGL and the game's engine. It would be great to have the various light sources not only produce different light levels but also slightly different hues, as well as the sunlight itself (not only the sky coloring) shifting hue throughout the day.
i agree... its 2023 and they STILL haven't added colored light, we had people who made mods inspired by this thread that added colored light to the game with OpenGL, it is possible and i know mojang is worried hos adding colored light would effect performance but computers and graphics cards have improved dramatically the past 10 years since i made this post. I just feel mojang might be underestimating just how much value a change like this would bring to the table. it wouldnt even need to be all colors, even just a few colored lights would make a huge difference if they are worried about performance for all the different colors it would have to cover with a full spectrum. it would be one of the biggest introductions to the game in a LONG time allowing creators and minecraft vanilla experiences to be heightened due to the atmosphere options that one could use to amplify their builds.
I was building a cyberpunk build utilizing the new glow sign and glow picture frame updates and colored light would just complete this.
MOJANG WE STILL WANT COLORED LIGHT! Please consider it
