There Would Need to be alternate Ways to Find wood
Why? There isn't any wood in Superflat. I think the 'nature cave' sounds a bit odd though. Maybe it should be made of moss or something, dripping from an open hole in the celing.
there should be randomly generated miniature biomes spread through out the map including ice caves
Yea, i like that idea. Kinda like nature caves. Nature caves could be a special miniforest biome, with water and glowstone, and slightly smaller as well.

What this suggestion adds negatively
Harder to get food
Harder to generally survive and thrive
Less chances for wolves or cats
Many, many more ways to die
For me, those aren't cons. I fact i believe minecraft needs this world option and i am shocked they haven't already done it. A game based on surviving in a blocky world and spending most of your time in caves doesn't have a super cave option. I will support this.

SUPPORT MAN! You've really thought this through! Done your research, thought of poitives AND negatives! Great Idea id love to see this happening in the future!
Love everything except the Pigmen. That's not something that should be added for a single Map Type. Underground Villages should instead house Villagers, and possible generate in the Default Map Type too (though them being abandoned in that scenario is totally understandable). A little iffy on Glowstone-before-Nether, but I guess it's okay. Cubic chunks, again, not worth adding for just one world type (though them being added to all of Minecraft is of greater validity). An ore generation tweak sounds doable, but not as easy as a lot of other suggestions I've seen (the Mystcraft mod has a Rich Ores modifier for Ages [dimensions], this could be something similar). I especially love the Nature Cave Idea, that just might be a generated structure worth adding to all Map Types (except Superflat of course). Lastly, the tree generated at the spawn point should be prevented from being a Jungle tree, due to their rarer sapling drop rate (1/40 instead of 1/20) - Spruce might cause problems too due to their lower leaf amounts.

GENERATION 24: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
sounds interesting, but how would one get food if theres only a small starting area with grass in it? I would have these "nature caves" a regular feature (assuming that the entire map is underground), randomly generated like dungeons or ravines.
I envision their appearance to look like some of the dungeons in skyrim (mostly that vista in that temple where the horn of jurgen windcaller was entombed, or mossmother cavern), with a huge drop intersparsed with trees and a little forest at the bottom, maybe a pool of water or two. Also, some of these should let in sunlight for that epic lighting effect, or at least the one the player spawns in (there should also be a way to keep players from running around on top of the "ceiling" of the map).

I see a pretty big problem occurring from this tho. because the world is nothing but large dark caves, mob spawning will be increased exponentially causing massive lag like in the far lands in indev.
I strongly support this idea, the only thing I can think of is that pigmen always carry the same weapon and cant be hurt by lava, you propose a new pigman with interchangeable weapons and they can be hurt my lava, I think that would require making a new mob (ex Dwarf, EarthMan ect.)
i have one problem with this... i use worldpainter all the time and tried generating a place whos lowest point was 107 and it turned out that gives computers WAY to many blocks to generate at once, so in short the cave mode would have to be for people who can run it... which wont be everyone

That's why a certain replier to my post had the idea of Cubic Chunks, which I believe I presented in the opening post.

But then they would just be a zombie pigman clone, but perhaps you are right.. I'll think about it.
That is nothing like what I had imagined, that's more like just putting a roof over the sky. Thank you for showing it to me, but in this, you are wrong.

As I said above, a replier to my thread (Of whom I thank) had the idea of using Cubic Chunks, AKA instead of a chunk that reaches from bedrock to map height limit, a chunk that is a 16x16x16 area.
Sorry for posting multiple times in a row, but handling a lot of replies in one post tends to get a tad annoying and difficult, so I will do them four at a time at a maximum.

I do hope you did not just skim over it, since I did explain the Nature Caves, providing pictures as well. Also, once again, I think you skimmed over some things, I did say there was a bedrock ceiling like in The Nether.

Hmm, in the last post, I replied to someone who had a similar point about the pigmen, I think they should be abandoned as well, much like the Abandoned Mineshafts.
I was implying on the Cubic Chunks that perhaps they could be for all modes, but I thought it might get a bit, say, iffy with replies.
Thanks for the support.
SUPPORT MAN! You've really thought this through! Done your research, thought of poitives AND negatives! Great Idea id love to see this happening in the future!
Thank you for the support, but I didn't do as much research as one may think, mainly it was from my experience playing the game.
For me, those aren't cons. I fact i believe minecraft needs this world option and i am shocked they haven't already done it. A game based on surviving in a blocky world and spending most of your time in caves doesn't have a super cave option. I will support this.
Thank you very much for the support, I'm up for a challenge as well, usually.
Why? There isn't any wood in Superflat. I think the 'nature cave' sounds a bit odd though. Maybe it should be made of moss or something, dripping from an open hole in the celing.
The nature cave is pretty much a small-medium sized semi open cave area that usually has a small pond with grass as a floor, some glowstone on the ceiling, a random type of tree (Excluding Jungle trees) and perhaps a few random passive animals.
i have always liked the idea of a world type of infinite cave and no surface.
although if you ask me, there needs to be a surface, just not very big. maybe 32 blocks average? nature caves sound dumb.
You just completely contradicted yourself, and having a surface would ruin the feeling of being underground forever, free to dig and survive. Think of it as the old pre-1.8 404 challenge, no returning to the surface, having to survive indefinetly.
I'm not gonna bother reading all the comments, but if you haven't already, try Underground my Minecraftpg5. I think it has like 750 diamonds on PMC. Anyway, I still support the idea, but just in case your craving this kinda thing...
Perfectly fine to not read all the replies, but what site is this on, I don't believe you told me.
Totally no, that is wrong brittommy !! I got another idea, ill make it and put picture here to see if you guys like it
BTW, this idea is awesome, i don't want this thread to die away
Thank you for the support, I don't want any complex redstonery (Once you have a thread you can make up words.) in the altars, but if it's not something like that, feel free to post it.
Whew, you all have given me quite a bit to think about, but it's rather late here so don't expect any updates in a little while.
I see a pretty big problem occurring from this tho. because the world is nothing but large dark caves, mob spawning will be increased exponentially causing massive lag like in the far lands in indev.
Hostile mobs are capped at around 80. Without using spawners, you cannot get more.
So no, you do not get an exponential increase in mobs. You are probably at the limit 95%+ of the time anyways.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Jungle trees: While a single small jungle tree is apparently less likely to drop even one sapling (it needs 40 leaves to average one sapling), I believe (will test) that large jungle trees will drop an average of 5.

this isn't possible for vanillna minecraft it would lag too much if most of the map was stone . for example i was playing vech's spellbound caves and it would crash 2mins from the start due to the amount of stone it loads (and i use a pretty good computer that has no pretty much no probalem running wow , starcraft or cod ). of course you can alocate more ram to minecraft by thats not what everyone can do
Hello, please use better grammar, from what I can make out of this, you are saying that it would cause way too much lag. That was a problem already fixed by a certain replier's suggestion for cube chunks, they would generate much less lag and still be able to render rather well. (Since you don't really need a huge render distance in Caveworld, anyways, I believe it works out well.)
This has my support. May even make a voluntary banner for this at some point. For now, following thread.
Ah, sorry for not replying previously, did not notice the post. A banner would be great, preferably of a large cave area with lava, water and general awesomeness. Thanks for supporting!

I was thinking about that, and I agree, though I'll have to think of individual biome types for it.
