Is it just me, or should they add stuff like marble, granite, and other stone types so that our buildings look like buildings instead of masses of gray? It shouldnt be that hard - just replace some of the useless gravel deposits with the new stone type, yeah?
The main reason I want this, is so that texture packs will offer more stone textures from now on...
While I'm at it, we should have a hammer and chisel to make circle stone, pillar stone, column stone, and their wooden equivalents.
If you're responding to the post above your post, don't quote it. It adds unnecessary length. Also, a much better solution that retexturing other blocks, which prevents you from using the retextured blocks and only works for people who use the texture pack, is a horrible idea. This is meant to be implemented into vanilla, not a texture pack.
This is a good idea, but it's been suggested many times. One of the most well made rock suggestions is GeoCraft.
More rock, especially Granite and Limestone, would definitely improve Minecraft a lot, and I hope more rocks are added to replace the current generic rock soon.
